A Rolling Stone article was recently released with details on the behavior of nonbinary Queer Eye star Jonathan van Ness and his anger issues while on set.
The piece covered his behavior while filming with a source that called him “emotionally abusive” and a “monster” with “rage issues.” After the release of this article, fans of the show flooded the comments saying how upset it made them.
These fans took to Van Ness’ Instagram page with comments like, “I really hope the Rolling Stone article I just read has no truth to it.”
Additionally, one fan wrote, “You have always been a positive force in social media and someone who brings people up, especially those of us who are down. It would kind of suck if that was all just a facade.”
Van Ness has yet to comment on the backlash.

If you missed it, in late 2023 Bobby announced that he would be departing Queer Eye, the popular Netflix series that he starred in with Tan, Antoni Porowski, Jonathan Van Ness and Kamaro Brown. The rest of the castmates will continue with the show, and he has been replaced.
Earlier this year, Bobby confirmed that he and Tan had “a situation” that led to some sort of falling out. Rumors picked up speed again in March amid a report about Queer Eye that alleged Tan campaigned to get Bobby recast. He denied the allegations.
When it was time to celebrate the Oscars on Sunday (March 10), the former costars did so at different venues.

Adding “entrepreneur” to one’s resume unsurprisingly tops the wish list of many Hollywood stars these days — and why not, when Kim Kardashian, Rihanna and Jay-Z are just a few megawatt names who have transformed the blend of celebrity partnership and business acumen into multibillion-dollar success stories?
Indeed, there’s no shortage these days of brand incubators seeking to align stars with innovative products, from El Segundo-based Beach House Group to Manhattan-based beauty incubator Maesa and Los Angeles-based A-Frame, which boasts such launches as Loved01 skincare with John Legend as the face of the brand.
For stars seeking new opportunities and a streamlined process, another high-powered and inventive player in the brand-builder space is CAA-backed Caravan, a business incubator that specializes in matching start-up companies with high-wattage entertainers and athletes.

In early January, the hosts of Netflix’s feel-good series Queer Eye reunited for what might be the last time at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards. Through tears and smiles, Bobby Berk, Karamo Brown, Tan France, Antoni Porowski, and Jonathan Van Ness proudly raised their long-awaited golden statues.
After six years, five cities, a stint in Japan, and connections with dozens of hometown “heroes” that the food, design, grooming, style, and culture experts helped make over, the quintet — known as the Fab Five — took home awards as producers in the Outstanding Structured Reality Program category.

Featuring over 70 episodes and two specials, Netflix‘s Queer Eye has been captivating viewers since it first premiered in 2018.
The show follows five LGBTQ advisors as they attempt to improve someone’s life over the span of a week by using their respective areas of expertise. Food and wine expert Antoni Porowski handles culinary education. Designer Bobby Berk does home renovations. Fashion guru Tan France tackles the wardrobe. Grooming genius Jonathan Van Ness gives the makeover. Culture and lifestyle chief Karamo Brown guides them through the whole journey.

In the episode, it’s revealed that Doody was left paralyzed after a car accident. “They didn’t think he was gonna live,” Tim told the Fab Five, per Entertainment Weekly. “He was in a coma for three months.” Tim, whose house is decorated top to bottom in Kiss memorabilia, has been caring for his older brother since 1986. ...

Staci Wolfe is retiring. She’s the founder/CEO of Polaris PR, the agency that reps such talent as Steve Buscemi, Tim Roth, filmmakers Allen & Albert Hughes, Gary Sinise, David Copperfield, Matt Dillon, Eric Bana, Aaron Eckhart, Donal Logue, and Gordon Ramsay. Her longtime associate Alana Kass will take the helm of the agency.
Kass joined Polaris in 2011 after working for several years with the late awards consultant Ronni Chasen, and she has been instrumental in the campaigns of all of the company’s clients as well as her own roster including Jonathan Van Ness.
While the twin strikes, social media toxicity and polarized world probably has plenty of Hollywood vets counting the days until that gold watch, Wolfe’s story is different. "I'm emotionally exhausted." That's what Jonathan Van Ness - activist and beloved star of the Netflix show "Queer Eye" - said to actor and "Armchair Expert" podcast host Dax Shepard last week. And it was a sentiment that's continued to resonate among the LGBTQ+ community since.
During a Sept. 25 interview with Van Ness on his podcast, Shepard, of "Parenthood" fame, told Van Ness he supports almost all trans rights. But he also argued whether trans women should be able to compete in sports against cis women and said people have real concerns about certain trans rights, including whether youths should be allowed to transition.
After citing studies demonstrating that trans people are not dominating women's sports, don't have unfair advantages due to their biology, and arguing that trans people are being used as a scapegoat by conservatives, Van Ness was eventually moved to tears.

Tensions were rising on the latest ep of Dax Shephard’s podcast, “Armchair Expert“, which featured “Queer Eye” star Jonathan Van Ness as a guest.
The conversation between the two took a heated turn when the topic of transgender childhood transitioning took the spotlight. It all started when the two were pondering if The New York Times were more left-leaning or right-leaning, to which Ness propositioned were more right-leaning due to the publication’s stance on gender-affirming care for youth.

In the most recent episode of Dax Shepard’s podcast “Armchair Expert,” Jonathan Van Ness broke down in tears while defending the rights of transgender kids.
Shepard and Van Ness engaged in a light-hearted conversation about a range of topics before they began talking about The New York Times. When Van Ness said the publication should not be considered left-leaning, Shepard responded with, “It absolutely is.” Van Ness then said the publication shares anti-trans content.
After the two went back and forth on the topic, Shepard said, “Some people are very uncomfortable about teenagers transitioning. They’re challenging that. How do we know that the person’s not gonna change their mind?”
“To even question it makes you an enemy. I don’t think that’s the way forward,” Shepard continued before prompting Van Ness to offer a rebuttal.
Van Ness said it felt like they were talking to their dad.

“Queer Eye” star Karamo Brown said his costar Antoni Porowski didn’t send him an invitation to attend his bachelor party. Bobby Berk and Jonathan Van Ness were also left off the guest list.
During a chat with Bravo executive and host of Sirius Xm’s “Andy Cohen Live,” Andy Cohen, the reality TV star and personality revealed he seemingly wasn’t wanted at Porowski’s marital event.
“Did you go to Antoni’s bachelor party?” Cohen asked.
“I did not. I wasn’t invited,” Brown replied. “The shade of it all.”
He then went on to say that along with him, his two castmates also weren’t invited to attend.
“No. Bobby was not invited, I was not invited, and Jon Van Ness,” Brown said. “Just Tan [France] was invited. The shade.”
When Cohen mentioned that Berk told him that he was simply unable to make the party, Brown responded by denying Berk’s claim.

As an editor for Netflix’s Queer Eye, Toni Ann Carabello says the work is very different from other reality series. “On a lot of other shows, you’re over-emphasizing the drama,” she says. “On Queer Eye, you’re really just playing up the best parts of what’s there… It just makes everyone leave smiling.”
Carabello was nominated for an Emmy for her work on Queer Eye episode “Speedy for Life”, which follows a young man looking to inspire others after a traumatic accident. “At the end of the day, [that episode] touched everybody with how it really made an impact on this kid’s life,” she says. “He was just a nice, sweet kid who seemed appreciative of everything and genuinely happy.”

For stand-up comics gathered at the Just For Laughs comedy festival in Montreal this week, booking club dates across North America and arena dates worldwide represents far more than a way to stay busy and pay the rent during the Hollywood writers and actors strikes.
It’s what live comedy artists do year-round, taking to the road or TikTok and YouTube to hone their craft and build fan followings with an eye to global stand-up touring as the pinnacle of their profession. The result is a strike-proof Just For Laughs festival barely impacted by the current Hollywood industry shutdown as SAG-AFTRA and the Writers Guild of America look to settle contract talks with the AMPTP, representing major studios and streamers.
“We know the heart of what we do is stand-up and comedy and that is not affected by the strikes,” Robyn Kaszor, vp of festivals at Just For Laughs, told The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday.
