- Tereza Nvotová's (1988, Czechoslovakia) sophomore feature, Nightsiren (Svetlonoc, 2022), premiered in Locarno IFF - "Cineasti del presente", where it won the Golden Leopard for the Best Film. Following, in Sitges IFF the film won the Silver Melies for the Best European Production. The film traveled to more than 40 international film festivals around the world. It has been released in Czech Republic and Slovakian theaters, sold to US, Germany, South Korea, Poland, Japan, Portugal and others, and appeared on major streamers like Netflix, Amazon or Apple TV. Her debut feature, Filthy (Spina, 2017), premiered at IFF Rotterdam and has won many awards at festivals worldwide. HBO co-produced her feature debut and two documentaries. Her latest, The Lust For Power (Meciar, 2017) was critically acclaimed and has caused heated debate about populism and corruption in politics.
