Another Gilmore Girls veteran has shared their two cents on the theories surrounding the father of Rory’s baby. Valerie Campbell, the key set costumer for the original series and costume supervisor for Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, often uses her TikTok account to debunk rumors and share stories from her days on the sets. In a pair of recent viral videos, she addressed the debate over Rory’s baby daddy in the revival.

We're left with plenty of lingering questions now that we've all had a chance to watch all four episodes of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, but at a SAG-aftra panel on Tuesday, Nov. 29, Lauren Graham weighed in on one of the more pressing issues from the revival: what the heck was up with the Gilmores' treatment of Rory's poor, neglected boyfriend, Paul (Jack Carpenter)? Instead of an actual character, Paul was more a punchline than anything. The Ann Veal of Gilmore Girls, if you will. (Raise your hand if you're now mad about the missed opportunity for an Ann/egg/bland joke with Mae Whitman here. Come on!) But Graham said that she hasn't really read any of the feedback about the Gilmores'...

In Netflix’s revival “Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life,” that gets answered — sort of. Throughout an entire year in the life of mother-daughter duo Lorelai (Lauren Graham) and Rory (Alexis Bledel), the younger Gilmore is seen struggling. At 32, her career isn’t where she thought it would be, and her love life is even worse. She has a boyfriend of two years,...

New Zealand actress Melanie Lynskey made her breakthrough into movies and cinema history with Peter Jackson's true-crime drama Heavenly Creatures back in 1994. Since then, she's become an actress utterly beloved by critics and indie movie fans for her layered performances in films like Win Win, Away We Go, Up In the Air and Hello I Must Be Going. In the new-to-iTunes comedy Putzel, Lynskey learned to embrace her inner shiksa to play Sally, the spunky center of this raunchy rom-com's tricky love triangle. Putzel stars Jack Carpenter (I Love Beth Cooper) as Walter "Putzel" Himmelstein, a neurotic New York Jew who has become so engrained into the daily operations of his family's Upper West Side bagels and lox shop that the very thought of stepping outside the neighborhood fills him with crippling anxiety. Putzel is a film about the ties that bind, or in the case of title character Walter "Putzel" Himmelstein (Jack Carpenter), the ties that restrict, restrain and suffocate. Walter was born and raised in the Upper West Side of Manhattan and it's where he spends every waking moment. His grandfather was the founder and longtime owner of Himmelstein’s House of Lox, which is now in the hands of Putzel's uncle Sid (John Pankow). Putzel grew up around the salmon and bagels and expects to one day take over the family business. The Good Wife has embraced different aspects of technology in both the cases that they represent and in the political aspects of the show. These have previously included social media, viral videos and Bitcoin and they will be exploring search engines in this episode (for more on The Good Wife and technology check out Emily Nussbaum's piece here). It doesn't sound too exciting, but as the Good Wife writers have shown on countless occasions they can make these cases compelling, especially when you throw Rita Wilson's Viola Walsh into the mix. The Good Wife Season 4 Premiere Photos
With just over a month before The Good Wife returns for season 4, CBS has released promo photos for the season premiere "I Fought the Law." The new season will present challenges both old and new for all at Lockhart Gardner and expect Peter's (Chris Noth) campaign to be a central story this year.
The season finale saw Lockhart Gardner take a massive financial hit as their biggest client Patrick Edelstein (Jack Carpenter) decided to take his business elsewhere. This is a huge blow and will leave Will (Josh Charles) and Diane (Christine Baranski) scrambling to get their finances in order. Nathan Lane will make his first appearance in the season opener as Clarke Hayden; the firm's appointed trustee whose primary role is to reduce Lockhart Gardner's outgoings. This will cause conflict with not only Will and Diane, but other lawyers such as David Lee (Zach Grenier) at the firm.

Marc Meyers’ “Harvest” is the most elegantly written, sensitively portrayed movie so far this year. Powerful and life-affirming, it is a film that no adult can afford to miss.
The plot, if it can be called that, is so simple and universal, it feels as natural as life itself. An old man named Siv (Robert Loggia) is dying, and three generations of his family gather together to be with him in his last few months.
The scenario’s been played a million times over — but then most cinematic plots return time and time again. What makes Meyers’ story different is an authenticity that feels so real it’s hard to believe we’re watching a film at all.

There’s a theory that you can tell more about a society from its “low-brow” pop culture than you can from its high art. If that’s true, there’s not too much that’s more low-brow than the teen sex comedy, movies which are usually celebrations of male promiscuity and debauchery – often with a vague or bittersweet moral tacked on at the end.
What are teen sex comedies saying about gay people?
Surprisingly, the news lately is pretty good. A trio of recent teen sex comedies, Easy A, She’s Out of My League, and I Love You, Beth Cooper, have either included sympathetic gay teen characters, or joked about gay themes in surprisingly progressive or inclusive ways.

After landing a recurring role in "Chuck", Kristin Kreuk will be adding another television credit to her resume. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the 27-year-old actress has been tapped as one of the leads on a new comedy pilot for CBS, titled "Hitched". She will be starring opposite "I Love You, Beth Cooper" actor Jack Carpenter.
The "Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li" star and her 25-year-old co-star will take on the role of a newly married couple who is still learning about each other while surrounded by their family and friends. This TV project reunites her with "Chuck" co-creator Josh Schwartz, who co-wrote the new comedy with Matt Miller.
The half-hour sitcom "Hitched" will be produced by Warner Bros. "Night at the Museum 2: Battle of the Smithsonian" actor Eugene Levy has been cast earlier to portray Jack Carpenter's on-screen father. His character is described as a tracksuit-wearing four-times-divorced lothario.

CBS' comedy project based on the Twitter sensation S*** My Dad Says has landed the dad in question: Emmy winner William Shatner.
Also at CBS, Kristin Kreuk will continue working with "Chuck" boss Josh Schwartz in his comedy pilot "Hitched."
The Shatner project -- which doesn't have an official title yet -- is based on Justin Halpern's massively followed Twitter feed (1.1 million-plus as of Friday). The casting of Shatner ("Boston Legal," "Star Trek") makes the pilot a go, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Halpern, a writer who moved in with his parents last year -- thus putting him in proximity to stuff his dad says -- co-wrote the script with Patrick Schumacker. "Will & Grace" creators Max Mutchnick and David Kohan are executive producing.
- Kreuk, meanwhile, will play one of the two lead roles in "Hitched," a comedy about newlyweds who don't really know each other yet. Jack Carpenter ("I Love You Beth Cooper,...

Directed by Chris Columbus and written by Larry Doyle, I Love You Beth Cooper chronicles the story of a nerdy valedictorian who proclaims his love for the hottest and most popular girl in school – Beth Cooper – during his graduation speech. Much to his surprise, Beth shows up at his door that very night and decides to show him the best night of his life!

I hate I Love You, Beth Cooper, a movie which, as a friend noted afterward, goes from grad to worse. This Chris Columbus film is as painfully unfunny as any movie this summer -- or in recent memory. A chimp could have written this script, if he had screenplay software and a "laugh-free teen comedy" program. The simian in question here is named Larry Doyle, who has several Simpsons scripts to his credit (as well as the novel on which this script is based). Perhaps he suffered a head injury since he wrote them. Newcomer Paul Rust plays Denis Cooverman, high school valedictorian. As Denis speaks at his graduation ceremony, he uses the opportunity to say things he's always wanted to voice but never had the nerve: outing his gay best friend Rich (Jack T. Carpenter); calling out a couple of bullies;...

My friend and confidant, the roving radio guy Kevin Finnerty is well known for making some pretty hilarious comments during films. For instance during one film he shouted midway through “I want to leave.” Another time, when a film was dragging terribly, he said “Oh, let it end.” Sometimes his thoughts are summed up by a simple “Ugh,” or “oh boy.” He even interacts with the characters on screen like when one asks “Do you still love me?” Kevin will reply “No.” Given the right (or wrong) film, Kevin can make the experience somewhat enjoyable. What does this have to do with I Love You, Beth Cooper? Quite simply, Kevin was the funniest part of this complete waste of time, money, and film.

I Love You, Beth Cooper
Directed by: Chris Columbus
Cast: Paul Rust, Hayden Panettiere, Jack T. Carpenter, Lauren Storm
Running Time: 1 hr 41 mins.
Rating: PG-13
Release Date: June 10, 2009
Plot: Super-nerd valedictorian (Rust) proclaims his love for the hottest girl in school, Beth Cooper (Panettiere), during his graduation speech. That night, Beth shows up at his door and takes him out for the night of his life. Based on the novel by Larry Doyle.
Who’s It For? Normally I would say this is all about the teenage crowd, but even they should have enough taste to avoid this. The only ones I can’t stop are those with huge Panettiere crushes.
Expectations: A little fun high school humor never hurt anyone. If I give it a second of thought, I’m not a Panettiere fan. I’ve seen every episode of “Heroes” and after the last one, I finally stopped.

The players: Director: Chris Columbus, Writer: Larry Doyle, Cast: Hayden Panettiere, Paul Rust, Lauren Storm, Jack T. Carpenter
Facts of interest: Based on Larry Doyle's book.
The plot: A high school's hottest chick shows a nerd the best time of his life after he publicly declares his love for her.
Our thoughts: Chris Columbus goes all raunchy on us in his latest comedy “I Love You, Beth Cooper,” an occasionally amusing film that lacks big laughs and surprises but can still be fairly enjoyable to watch. Columbus is a well-known filmmaker with some high-profile titles under his belt, but I don’t expect this one to pull large audiences.
