- During Summer break at the age of 17 he directed tv pilots, including Beauty & The Beast starring Xaviera Hollander.
- Starting in 1979 he worked as a media research analyst at the Financial Post.
- Received his MBA from the University of Western Ontario.
- Worked his way through high school and college as an installer for Maclean Hunter Cable.
- In 1983 joined City-TV as Program Manager.
- In December 2002 he was named CEO of Chum Ltd.
- His first job at the age of 16 was manning the switchboard on Friday nights and weekends City-TV, a Toronto tv station co-founded by his mother Phyllis Switzer. He was paid $1.50/hour.
- His father was Canadian cable pioneer Israel "Sruki" Switzer.
- In October 2000 he was named President of Chum Television.
- In 1984 he launched MusicMusic followed by Fashion Television, Movie Television, Bravo!, Star!, Space, MuchMoreMusic and CP24.
- Graduated from the University of Toronto with an undergraduate degree in business.
- In 1995 he was named VP Programming for Chum Television.
