"Here, a good luck charm." Gravitas Ventures has debuted the trailer for the indie film 1 Buck, from filmmaker Fabien Dufils, telling the story of one dollar bill as it travels 'round a forgotten town in Louisiana. Yes, crazy enough, the concept for this is to follow a dirty dollar as it travels from person to person, pocket to pocket, getting in trouble and paying for things. The cast includes John Freeman, Katie Lynne Ryan, Cassi Colvin, Will Green, River Faught, and Darren Kendrick. This looks a bit over-the-top in terms of the depravity and crime, but so be it. Not really sure this is worth a watch, despite the dollar bill concept. Here's the official trailer (+ poster) for Fabien Dufils' 1 Buck, direct from Gravitas' YouTube: If money could talk... Shifting from one pocket to another, from one man's drama to another, is a lowly dollar bill. 1 Buck takes us...

Dolemite (Rudy Ray Moore, The Human Tornado) has spent a couple of years behind bars after being set up by rival pimp Willie Green ( D’Urville Martin, Black Caeser). His luck changes when his madam Queen Bee (Lady Reed, Disco Godfather) pays the prison warden a visit providing evidence of Dolemite’s innocence. With the warden now rightfully suspecting that Green and a few crooked cops including the hot-headed Mitchell (John Kerry, Black Dynamite) are behind Dolemite’s imprisonment, he organises an early release so that Dolemite can clear his name. Unfortunately however, it’s not all good news as Green is also responsible for killing Dolemite’s young nephew. With revenge well and truly on his mind, Dolemite instantly (well, after some back seat limo action at least.

Will Green Arrow appear in the Dceu? If rumors are to be believed, there are more heroes besides Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Superman, Flash, Cyborg, Batman and Mera appearing in the Justice League film. While most fans are hoping to see "Green" Lantern appear as the seventh member, what if it turns out that Star City's very own modern-day Robin Hood is the final hero that rounds out the Jl roster? According to Stephen Amell, star of The CW's Arrow, he wouldn't be mad at all if another actor was chosen to play the Golden Age DC Comics hero. In fact, Amell clarified that his earlier comments expressing dismay at WB not using Grant Gustin to play Barry Allen in the Dceu were taken out of context. Said Amell, to the audience, "I do not have a right to Oliver Queen. Someone played it played it before me. Someone voiced it before me.

We've been watching this trend for several years now. As soon as Alice In Wonderland- a live-action take on the classic story made famous to popular culture by a Disney animated movie- was a huge hit everyone has wanted in on adapting old cartoons. Alice came out in 2010 and, in subsequent years, we've seen new films based on Cinderella, Snow White, Maleficent, Jack & Jill, and Peter Pan. Some have hit; Some have flopped; But still, Hollywood studios are trying to cash in on this trend.
Last week's The Jungle Book had a somewhat unclear forecast. In the months and weeks leading up to it, no one knew if the film would be another Alice (Opening Weekend: $116 million) or- God forbid- another Pan (Opening Weekend: $15 million). The word-of-mouth was good, and the visuals were amazing, but are audiences still interested in seeing classic cartoons get the live-action treatment?

New reports suggest that Pinewood Toronto (formerly Filmport), the largest (and newest) indoor film studio facility in North America, would be agreeable to hosting Warners upcoming adaptation of DC Comics Green Lantern. The film's scheduled shoot in Australia (where the poorly-performing Superman Returns was lensed), could push ballooning production costs north of $150 million. At issue is that the film no longer qualifies for certain tax credits, making an Australian start more expensive than filming in Toronto, where the Ontario government is offering generous tax breaks for the new Resident Evil: Afterlife feature, Steven Spielberg's untitled alien invasion series for TNT, Universal's Scott Pilgrim and producer M. Knight Shyamalan's Devil The fact that Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds has already been cast as 'Hal Jordan', aka 'Green Lantern' will also go a long way towards sweetening up a Canadian film tax credit package.
