While, Hulu is not as flashy as some of the other streaming services like Netflix, Max, and Disney+, it has a solid library of shows that are both originals and licensed through various studios. So, we thought of making a list of the best sci-fi TV shows you can find on Hulu right now.

The sci-fi genre has always been one of the most beloved among cinephiles as it gives us a new look at a particular technology or our world. Rick and Morty has amassed a strong fan following, particularly among the millennials. However, many would be surprised to know that the sci-fi adult animated show shares a notable connection with Christopher Lloyd’s Back to The Future series. The movie follows an eccentric older man and a teenager who embark on a time-traveling adventure with the help of their hi-tech vehicle.
Rick and Morty in Season 7 | Adult Swim
Primarily due to its character inspirations and thematic elements, the animated show was conceived out of Lloyd’s movie parody, The Real Animated Adventures of Doc and Mharti. The film franchise star, in an old interview, addressed the same, confirming how the animated series shares a great connection with the sci-fi trilogy.

Dan Stevens is having the time of his life as Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire has become a big hit for Warner Bros and Legendary. Rick and Morty is one of the few cartoons that left a lasting impression in the minds of viewers, and much of it has to do with Justin Roiland. As a series, it is impeccable since it combines science and humor, making it a delightful watch.
Roiland poured his heart into this creation. He left no stone unturned to push the show to greater heights with each new season. The show has many memorable moments, given the different characters and their traits. However, one aspect of the titular character became synonymous with Rick, and the effort behind it might just be borderline disgusting.

In the famed "Rick and Morty" episode "Pickle Rick", the mad scientist Rick (Justin Roiland) uses his bizarre scientific acumen to transform his body into a pickle. He initially claims that he conducted his weird experiment for reasons of study, but it's made clear right away that he turned himself into a pickle specifically to avoid going to group therapy with his family. His daughter Beth (Sarah Chalke) leaves Rick alone in his garage, taking the syringe of antidote that would transform him back into a human. Rick, not being able to move as a pickle, is batted around by a cat and knocked into a sewer. He manages to create locomotion for himself using his tongue on a cockroach's exposed brain. He is eventually able to construct gross, muscular limbs out of rat cadavers, as well as weapons and jet packs from other sewer detritus. Rick, as a rat pickle,...

After scrubbing the plans for certain films, it seems Warner Bros. is now taking down one of its video game divisions. Adult Swim Games, which published titles like Rick and Morty: Virtual Rick-ality, Duck Game, Pool Panic, and more, appears to have arrived at the end of its lifespan as several developers received a notification concerning the situation from the Wbd executives suite.
The announcement has fans worried, as it could wipe out years of updates and a community built around those video games in the blink of an eye. The developers of these games are unsure about the future of the titles, and those unhappy with the decision are trying to retain the ownership of the games.

The seventh season of Rick and Morty ended in December, tying up many arcs in the beloved sitcom. With the main two antagonists of the series getting a resolution, fans have been coming up with theories on who the next season’s villain might be. Rick and Morty is set to return for Season 8 at Adult Swim, but what has been confirmed about the release, cast, and story of the upcoming episodes?
Season 7 arrived in late 2023, bringing with it the biggest changes since the show's inception as it was forced to recast the many roles played by Justin Roiland (the show's disgraced co-creator and former lead).
This led to the series' arrival with a fresh cast of new and familiar faces, but, unfortunately, it saw a sea of backlash and mixed reviews for several major reasons.

Throughout the 90’s, the popularity of more adult-oriented animation on TV would continue rising until the traditional kid-friendly Cartoon Network began airing more adult-animated programs after 11 pm. They eventually launched their Adult Swim slate of programs that catered to an adult audience that would be watching TV at that late of an hour. We would see the rise of cult hits such as Aqua Teen Hunger Force and Space Ghost: Coast to Coast. But no show seemed to have true crossover success until December 2, 2013, when an animated show debuted that resembled a more adult version of Back to the Future. The show came from controversial figure Dan Harmon who had recently been fired from his network series Community, yet it would be the show’s other creator that ten years later would make headlines for his off-screen behavior. It’s time we delve into the controversy surrounding Rick and Morty,...

Here are three pieces of breaking Rick and Morty news.
First, the Emmy-winning series will return for its eighth season sometime in 2025, ending the show’s recent streak of having new episodes annually (the show’s seventh season had its finale in December). The reason for the push: Last year’s five-month Writers Guild strike delayed production on the new episodes.
But starting today, the show’s seventh season is now on Max, which means all that Rick and Morty episodes are now on the streamer.
Also, the debut season of spin-off Rick and Morty: The Anime will premiere this year, and Adult Swim has just released the first in-show footage (below) from the project:
Rick and Morty: The Anime is from director Takashi Sano (Tower of God) who previously directed two acclaimed anime shorts in the Rick and Morty universe: “Rick and Morty vs. Genocider” and “Summer Meets God...

This article contains spoilers for Rick and Morty season 7 episode 10.
Rick and Morty season 7 had a lot to be afraid of.
Adult Swim‘s animated hit went into the year without the original voices of its titular characters following co-creator Justin Roiland’s dismissal of the show. This meant that the show’s writing staff, led by co-creator Dan Harmon and showrunner Scott Marder, had to work in two new major voice actors (Ian Cardoni as Rick and Harry Belden as Morty) while also fighting against the inevitable fan perception of creative inertia that all animated series face nearly a decade in.
Perhaps it’s no surprise then that the theme of season 7’s 10th and final episode all comes down to fear. Fittingly titled “Fear No Mort,” the season finale finds Rick and Morty meeting a mysterious thrill-seeker (voiced by Liev Schreiber) and being brought to a Denny’s...

Rick and Morty‘s Season 7 is set to wrap on Dec. 17, and ahead of its finale, showrunner and executive producer Scott Marder is teasing what’s ahead for the Adult Swim animated series.
In a recent interview, Marder opened up about working on Season 9 of the show and hinted at a ten-season saga that’s being worked on.
“I can’t tease a lot. I can tell you we’re in the middle of writing season nine,” Marder said in an interview with Comic Book. “I can tell you that we’ve already got a couple ideas for Season 10 that are already kind of pinned. There is a full plan for a full 10-season saga.”
He continued, “So if people are on board with what we’ve been doing the past couple seasons, we’re intending to give them more of that. But there are certainly arcs and cool things and big surprises in store.

"Rick and Morty" season 7 has been a big surprise, giving us some of the best episodes since the show's earliest seasons. After the Justin Roiland controversy that ended with his firing, it feels like nothing has changed, and yet everything has changed too. While the voice acting features a seamless transition to two new unknown actors as the titular characters, the writing feels sharper and more balanced. There is a great blend of bizarre sci-fi plots with character development, taking Rick's story to new territory.
This has never been a show that prioritizes deep lore or character development, but this season has struck a balance where Rick's character arc has reached a milestone, while also giving us plenty of fun standalone episodes. Spoiler Alert: This piece contains spoilers from “Unmortricken,” the fifth episode of “Rick and Morty” Season 7.
Dan Harmon is, by his own admission, “allergic to serialized, canonical stuff.” But the “Rick and Morty” co-creator told Variety that he resisted that impulse for “Unmortricken,” the episode that brought Season 7 of the Adult Swim animated sitcom to its halfway point on Sunday night. Not only does “Unmortricken” check in on the series’ overarching story for the first time since the Season 6 premiere (which aired over a year ago); it also sees the grisly death of a character once built up as the show’s arch-antagonist, even as it gives another an unprecedented level of power within the “Rick and Morty” universe.

Between the public internal turmoil and recasting major roles several seasons in, “Rick and Morty” has always been a show that’s been as chaotic behind the scenes as it is on-screen. For series co-creator Dan Harmon, Season 7 represents the hope that “era” is over.
“I think Seasons 1-7 have always been the result of coping with the production pipeline. Then you get what you get off of the assembly line, which I’m usually massively proud of,” Dan Harmon told TheWrap. “But we’re coming up on an era now where it’s like, ‘Oh, actually, we can make creative strategic decisions about the content on the screen.'”
Harmon noted that the behind-the-scenes story of the shows “has always superseded the creative and onscreen direction.”
“It’s kind of a meta answer, but what Season 7 represents to me is the first season where we’re on schedule,” Harmon said.

Fans of Rick And Morty are in for a treat, as the popular cartoon has returned for its seventh season. However, this time around, two new voice actors will be joining the cast, replacing Justin Roiland. Throughout its acclaimed run since 2013, Rick and Morty has been a major success for Adult Swim. It has been nominated for two Emmys and is widely regarded as one of the most successful television comedies of the 21st century. Additionally, the show has been associated with numerous collaborations, such as with McDonald’s and the video game Fortnite. The new trailer premiered on September...

Further proof that time is a flat circle: “Rick and Morty” is getting back to basics in Season 7.
Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland began Adult Swim’s flagship animated series as a searingly cynical “Back to the Future” homage in 2013, introducing audiences to an alcoholic scientist and his 14-year-old grandson through mostly self-contained episodes. Over the decade that followed, Harmon’s world-building smarts combined with Roiland’s knack for character design to create a sweeping multi-verse of interlocking plots that upped the ante across adult cartoons.
The show also fostered an infamously toxic workplace and lead to a painful split between the creators. Overly long hours, unwanted sexual advances, and a hostile creative process plagued the writers room with Roiland becoming an increasingly aloof and unpredictable presence past Season 4. Now, in the wake of the animator’s ousting (Roiland continues to deny numerous sexual abuse and grooming allegations), it seems...

In seven seasons, "Rick and Morty" has never really changed. Sure, it has introduced problems both big and small that the characters must face. There was the time Morty had to move to another dimension after accidentally turning his home dimension into a Cronenbergian nightmare. There was Beth and Jerry's separation, when Morty's dad moved out of the house (and had a fling with a telekinetic alien warrior). Eventually, however, the status quo is restored and things go back to normal. Rick may go to prison at the end of one season, and he may be forced to ask for permission before taking Morty on adventures the next one, but he remains virtually the same. Rick is always the patriarch of the family: the man in charge, the smartest man in the universe. Even when he loses, it is part of his plan. Things don't really change, and Rick is seldom challenged.

The new voice actors for the Adult Swim animated series Rick And Morty have been revealed for season seven.
For the titular characters, Rick Sanchez will be voiced by Ian Cardoni, while Harry Belden will voice Morty. They were revealed as the new voice actors during the credits of the season seven premiere on October 15.
Both characters were originally voiced by Justin Roiland, who was dropped by Adult Swim in January following charges of one felony count of domestic battery with corporal injury and one count of false imprisonment by menace, violence, fraud and/or deceit by a woman Roiland was dating.
The charges against Roiland were dropped two months later after prosecutors said there wasn’t enough evidence to prove the case.
Roiland was also axed by Hulu on the series Solar Opposites. He has since been accused of nine accounts of sexual misconduct last month in a report by NBC News.

Through its first six seasons, identifying who voiced one of the many aliens, critters, or goobers on Rick and Morty was a pretty easy thing to do. That’s because, in addition to performing as the titular lead characters, co-creator Justin Roiland also embodied most of the show’s strange background players.
Following season 6, however, Roiland was fired from the series due to receiving domestic battery charges (later dropped) and multiple allegations of sexual assault. With Roiland gone, multiple actors have stepped in to fill the roles of Rick, Morty, and the whole other host of characters from the Adult Swim hit’s increasingly large constellation of galaxies, timelines, and multiverses. Even without the personnel change midway through, Rick and Morty‘s cast of voice actors was already pretty confusing beast to make sense of. So let’s try to do exactly that.

After allegations against "Rick and Morty" co-creator Justin Roiland resulted in him getting fired from the show and recast as the voices of the two title characters, the beloved adult animated comedy is back for season 7. The season premiere puts us back in business as usual, with Rick getting into some shenanigans while slowly teasing the canonical larger story of Rick chasing after the version of himself that killed his wife.
But the episode's focus is not on Rick and Morty, or even on Rick himself. Instead, the episode brings back a fan-favorite side character to continue his tragic arc: Mr. Poopybutthole, a very good friend of the Smith family who got shot by Beth back in season 2 when she thought he was an imaginary creature.
Since then, Mr. Poopybutthole has appeared at least once each season, usually breaking the fourth wall to update us on his story. In season...

Season 7 of “Rick and Morty” is the first volume of the Adult Swim animated sitcom, a “Back to the Future” riff tracking the adventures of a mad scientist and his bumbling grandson, not to star co-creator Justin Roiland as the voice of both title characters. The network fired Roiland in January after the actor was charged with domestic violence; though the charges have since been dropped, an NBC News report last month alleged a pattern of inappropriate sexual conduct. In between, the roles of Rick and Morty were recast with soundalikes Ian Cardoni and Harry Belden, a monthslong saga that culminated with the debut of a Roiland-free show on Sunday.
All this behind-the-scenes upheaval might suggest “Rick and Morty” would return a markedly different show. But “How Poopy Got His Poop Back” is almost pointedly normal, collecting various fixtures of the “Rick and Morty” universe — not just Rick and Morty themselves,...

Rick and Morty’s seventh season has had an air of controversy and intrigue surrounding it as series creator Justin Roiland was fired by the show and Adult Swim due to felony domestic abuse charges being brought against him. Even though Roiland hadn’t been involved in any major creative decisions with the series for years, he still voiced the eponymous duo as well as other side characters up to his departure. With Roiland gone, the creative team behind Rick and Morty had some seemingly large shoes to fill to get the new season done on time and make sure the change was virtually seamless for long-time fans.
Rather than going the Solar Opposites route and bringing in a well-known actor with a different voice to replace Roiland and making a bit out of the whole thing, Rick and Morty showrunner Scott Marder decided to take a different approach. To start,...

After some struggles behind the scenes with series co-creator and lead voice actor Justin Roiland, Adult Swim's hit animated series "Rick and Morty" has returned for season 7. There are two new unknown actors who have stepped up to voice the titular characters, and their soundalike voices seem to be worthy replacements. Thankfully, the season premiere feels like it hasn't skipped a beat in the wake of this drastic shift, and the first episode includes both the return of Mr. Poopybutthole and a guest appearance by a certain Hollywood blockbuster star who has starred in everything from comic book franchises to beloved musicals. But we won't spoil anything, in case you haven't watched yet.
But if you're a "Rick and Morty" fan, why haven't you tuned in? Maybe you don't have cable, so you can't catch new episodes on Adult Swim when they premiere on Sundays at 11:00pm Et/8:00pm Pt.

“Rick and Morty” finally revealed the new voices of the titular characters in Sunday’s Season 7 premiere episode following star and co-creator Justin Roiland’s ousting over sexual misconduct allegations.
Shrouded in mystery until now, the credits announced that Ian Cardoni is the new voice of Rick Sanchez and Harry Belden is the voice of Rick’s grandson Morty.
In contrast to Dan Stevens taking over Roiland’s role on the Hulu animated series “Solar Opposites,” the “Rick and Morty” team opted to cast a wide net to find soundalikes for the beloved characters, which is why they went with these two largely unknown actors.
Cardoni’s credits include a small role in Larry David’s HBO movie “Clear History” and an uncredited role in “Grown Ups,” and he’s done a lot of voiceover work.
Belden’s resume is similarly a bit scant – he was in an episode of...

Dan Harmon recently finally addressed the fractured relationship between him and Rick and Morty co-creator, Justin Roiland. Roiland faces a series of serious accusations and misconduct and the legal trouble he finds himself in has caused his projects to find replacements for his voice roles. Probably the most notable of the properties is Rick and Morty, in which Roiland played a prominent role. Season 7 of the show has now premiered with new cast members in place and Dan Harmon insists that the animated comedy will not suffer in quality without Roiland’s involvement. “We want the show to speak for itself. We believe in the strength of the season and our new voices and we want to preserve the viewing experience for fans.”
Scott Marder, the showrunner for Rick and Morty, talks with The Hollywood Reporter along with Dan Harmon about the tough task of finding voice talents that can seamlessly replace Roiland.

“Rick and Morty” has finally revealed the voice actors who are replacing star Justin Roiland.
Ian Cardoni is the new voice of Rick Sanchez and Harry Belden is Morty Smith. Their names appeared in the credits for the Season 7 premiere on Sunday night. The opening credits also omitted the usual “Created by Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon” and only featured the “Rick and Morty” logo.
The characters’ new voices were first heard in the Season 7 trailer, which debuted in September, but Adult Swim wouldn’t reveal the people behind them. After a nearly six-month search that featured thousands of candidates, newcomers Ian Cardoni and Harry Belden now find themselves squarely in the spotlight after they officially made their debut as the voices of the narcissistic, alcoholic genius Rick (Ian Cardoni) and his bumbling grandson Morty (Harry Belden), respectively, in the season seven premiere of the Adult Swim animated hit.
Sunday’s premiere marked the first episode of Rick and Morty without co-creator Justin Roiland, who until now had voiced both characters (among others) for all of the show’s 61 previous episodes. Roiland was fired from the cult hit and saw his Hollywood empire implode after allegations of domestic violence surfaced and reports, including in The Hollywood Reporter, uncovered years of his allegedly troubling behavior. An Orange County District Attorney dismissed the domestic violence charges, citing insufficient evidence, and has also denied new allegations of misconduct that range from sexual harassment to sexual assault.

When the first promo for "Rick and Morty" season 7 featured only Summer and Beth, some fans found it to be a little concerning. To a casual viewer who hadn't been following the behind-the-scenes news, it might've seemed like an innocent choice to give us a "Rick and Morty" promo that didn't include Rick or Morty. But for those who were already aware that co-creator and prominent voice actor Justin Roiland was removed from the show due to a whole bunch of troubling allegations, this was a cause for concern: Why was the show playing it so coy? Did they lack confidence in the new voice actors, whoever they were? Did they know we'd hate them at first? Did they want to postpone the backlash for as long as possible?
But after just a few minutes of the first episode, it's clear these worries were unfounded. The season premiere, with its...

Two episodes into “Rick and Morty” Season 7 and you’ll be begging to talk about the metaphoric Gromflomite in the room. Justin Roiland is out and, while the two voice actors replacing him as the titular mad scientist and his grandson are strong sound-alikes (their identities have yet to be revealed even to critics), you’d think the smartest Adult Swim show in the multi-verse would have a cleverer response than this to its unceremonious kneecapping.
