Kelly Clarkson has a long history with American Idol, being the show’s first-ever winner back in 2002, so could she return to the series as part of the judging panel? After former Idol judge Katy Perry said her farewell to the show at the end of Season 22 on May 19, 2024, there is now an empty seat next to Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie. While it was announced that ABC was in talks with “high-profile stars” to replace the outgoing Perry, no official announcement has been made as of yet. Speaking at the Daytime Emmy Awards on Friday night (June 7), Entertainment Tonight asked Clarkson if she would consider stepping in as Perry’s replacement. “I can’t do that, only because I promised my kids. I was like, ‘I wanna be there as much as I possibly can,'” the “Since U Been Gone” hitmaker said. “And it would put me in L.

Kelly Clarkson is shutting down the idea of replacing Katy Perry on American Idol.
The first-ever winner of the reality series is not planning on becoming a judge of the singing competition and recently revealed the reason why.
“I can’t do that, only because I promised my kids. I was like, ‘I wanna be there as much as I possibly can,'” Clarkson said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight at the Daytime Emmy Awards. “And it would put me in L.A., and that’s why I had to quit The Voice, which I love that team. And I miss them so much.”
Clarkson had been juggling being a coach on NBC’s The Voice and hosting her daytime talk show based in LA but moved to the East Coast last year to spend more time with her kids.

American Idol is desperately trying to find a new judge to replace Katy Perry after her exit. Keep reading to find out why Kelly Clarkson says it won’t be her.
Kelly Clarkson Nabs Another Emmy Award
Fox launched a singing competition in the summer of 2002 that would be one of the network’s biggest hits. Kelly Clarkson went down in history as the first American Idol winner. She is arguably still the most popular reality star turned singing sensation, along with Season 4 winner Carrie Underwood.
The show moved to ABC in 2018 and underwent a lot of changes. Ryan Seacrest still serves as host, but the judges’ table looked completely different. Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie joined the show as judges when it moved to ABC.
Kelly Clarkson’s life has also undergone some huge changes since she won the competition 22 years ago. Her music career has reached heights she never expected,...

Avengers: Endgame sits at 94% on Rotten Tomatoes with more than 550 reviews. However, with many critics turning on superhero movies in recent years, there's been an increase in "superhero fatigue" talk and a general, often overly harsh, criticism of the genre.
However, one person who won't put up with the 2019 movie being torn down in any way is singer and talk show host Kelly Clarkson.
In a new video posted on The Kelly Clarkson Show's YouTube channel, the American Idol winner responds to negative Letterboxd reviews. In the case of Avengers: Endgame, she was having none of it.
"Who gave this a bad review?" Clarkson wondered before mocking critics: "'Ugh, it’s just these big epic Marvel things. These big epic superhero movies.' Fans love them. Not everything has to be Shawshank Redemption. Whatever."
The review also referenced Martin Scorsese's scathing assessment of comic book adaptations to which Clarkson said,...

Kelly Clarkson recently broke down while covering a Bon Jovi classic tune. What happened to her that caused her to botch this performance?
Kelly Clarkson Is An Industry Powerhouse
As the first American Idol, Kelly Clarkson has had nothing short of a meteoric rise since she won the inaugural season of the popular singing competition. Over the last two decades, she has proven that her winning the show was no fluke, either.
Kelly Clarkson has one of those iconic voices where, no matter what you throw her way, she can sing it. Of course, it only made sense to add a Kellyoke segment to her popular talk show, where she does exactly that. Kelly Clarkson takes popular songs and performs renditions of them, and it has been a huge hit with her fans.

Sunday Am Final: Sony’s Bad Boys: Ride or Die had a great Saturday of $19.5M, -10% against previews/first day of $21.6M, for what’s shaping up to be a $56M opening. This is the highest-grossing R-rated opening since Oppenheimer last July, and Will Smith’s sixth-highest U.S./Canada opening overall of his career and his 18th No. 1 opening as a leading man.
For Martin Lawrence, Bad Boys: Ride or Die is his 8th No. 1 domestic opening. The Jerry Bruckheimer-produced, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah-directed fourthquel beats its recent round of tracking of $40M+, but is also ahead of its initial $50M+ forecast from three weeks ago, proving there’s still life in moviegoing. Really. This is just the beginning of summer. Global was even bigger on Bad Boys 4 with $104.6M.

Live with Kelly and Mark has done something that had not happened since 2019, and for one of the hosts, it is also a first.
Kelly Ripa last won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Talk Series Host in 2019, when Ryan Seacrest was her partner on Live.
For the last year, the honor of being Kelly’s co-host has gone to Kelly’s husband, Mark Consuelos, who has done an outstanding job as Live’s co-host.
Mark was hesitant to join full-time and worried that working next to Kelly would hurt their marriage, but that seems like a needless worry now.
As previously reported by Monsters and Critics, the ratings for Live with Kelly and Mark are spiking and have continued to do well since Mark took over for Ryan Seacrest.

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos were nominated for the Daytime Emmy Awards in the Outstanding Daytime Series Host category for their work on Live with Kelly and Mark.
The awards ceremony aired live from the Westin Bonaventure Hotel in downtown Los Angeles, but Kelly and Mark missed the show.
Kelly has been nominated in this category many times but has not won a Daytime Emmy since 2019 when she shared the honor with Ryan Seacrest.
Perhaps being nominated and failing to win several years in a row factored into Kelly and Mark skipping the ceremony, which would have required them to fly to California.
This year, Mark was nominated alongside Kelly for the first time since this is his first year hosting full-time next to Kelly on Live.

Dick Van Dyke Won For Outstanding Guest Performance On ‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers
The show started by awarding the Outstanding Supporting Performance in a Daytime Drama. Robert Gossard, who plays Marshall Ashford on General Hospital, won.
Gossard was genuine and humble, two things everyone wants to see in a winner. Next, Courtney Hope, who plays Sally Spectra on The Young and the Restless, won.
Hope dedicated her Emmy to all the mothers who lost a child. Her big storyline this year was that her character had a devastating miscarriage. Her performance was heartbreaking.

Even a singer as legendary as Kelly Clarkson can have trouble nailing the correct lyrics sometimes.

“The Young and the Restless” will get back in the winner’s circle at the 51st Annual Daytime Emmy Awards scheduled for Friday night, June 7. That’s according to the combined predictions of Gold Derby users who have placed their bets here in our predictions center. Do you agree the top-rated CBS serial will be named the year’s best soap?
“Y&r” will have to overcome “General Hospital,” which has been on a hot streak, winning for the last three years in a row. In total, “Gh” has won Best Drama Series 16 times, more than any other soap in history. “Y&r” is next in line with 11, including back-to-back wins in 2019 and 2020. No other daytime drama has achieved double-digit victories. In fact, none even come close. The Voice dropped some big news for avid fans of the hit singing competition show.
Over the years, some pretty great judges have been appointed, including Kelly Clarkson, Christina Aguilera, Usher, Blake Shelton, and, most recently, Reba McEntire.
However, one of the original coaches who launched The Voice over a decade ago is back to reclaim his chair and another win in the books.
No, we aren’t talking about Cee Lo Green, though that would be an exciting twist for future show seasons.
Adam Levine will return to the stage and his rightful spot in the coach’s chair for the blind auditions next spring.
That’s right. After revealing he was leaving the show for good and would not come back for future seasons, Adam is returning to the show he helped launch over a decade ago.

Dakota Fanning went viral in April for revealing that not only did Tom Cruise gift her a cell phone when she celebrated her 11th birthday on the set of their 2005 movie “War of the Worlds” but that he’s also proceeded to send her a birthday gift every year since. That’s nearly two decades worth of birthday presents, all of which have apparently been shoes. Fanning revealed the specifics of Cruise’s gifting habits during a new interview on Kelly Clarkson’s daytime talk show (via Entertainment Weekly).
“I turned 11 on ‘War of the Worlds,’ when we worked together and he gave me my first cell phone for that birthday,” Fanning said. “It was a Motorola Razr…I didn’t have anyone to call, but I wanted a Razr so bad. I must have been talking about it a lot because that’s what he got me. It’s such a great memory.
