This post contains spoilers for "Fallout" season 1, as well as "Justified" and "Justified: City Primeval."
If you watched "Fallout" this weekend and half-expected Deputy U.S. Marshall Raylan Givens himself to stroll across the show's post-apocalyptic wasteland, you're not alone. Despite not actually sharing a casting director with the FX neo-Western "Justified," the first few episodes of the new Prime Video series feature not just one or two but four different actors who previously appeared on the Kentucky-set drama. That's a whole lot of Harlan for one video game adaptation.
Walton Goggins, who stars in "Fallout" as the actor-turned-undead gunslinger known primarily as the Ghoul, is the most obvious connection between the two shows. On "Justified" and its recent follow-up series "Justified: City Primeval," Goggins played smooth-talking man in black Boyd Crowder, who spent most of the original show's six seasons at odds with Timothy Olyphant's lawman. Spoilers Ahead!
As Walton Goggins’ 2024 drama Fallout was released on April 10 on Prime Video, fans were greeted to a few prominent guest stars from the very first season. But there was one unannounced casting that caught TV fans’ attention in particular, and certainly rejoiced Justified fans.
Walton Goggins in Fallout
In the final scene of the series premiere, Walton Goggins was seen squaring off against a familiar face, who was his frequent collaborator from Justified. While most people might consider Timothy Olyphant, it was actually Mykelti Williamson who provided a delightful bonus for fans. But while Williamson’s casting came as a surprise to fans, Goggins noted that it was “no coincidence”.

In a “Fallout” premiere packed with surprises, the Ghoul’s introduction is a nasty little treat. It’s a dark, blustery evening. Three men go grave-digging, but rather than robbing the dead, they’ve come with an offer. A rich bounty is up for grabs, and they need a little help to procure it. Honcho, the group’s leader, thinks he knows just the man for the job: a bounty hunter Honcho’s father used to work with, who’s been buried alive for years, maybe decades, at this very cemetery.
Things do not go according to plan for ol’ Honcho, but the scene executes its own ends with rousing style: It quickly establishes Walton Goggins’ Ghoul as a force to be reckoned with, while providing a delightful bonus for “Justified” fans: Goggins and Mykelti Williamson, together again.

The Fallout gaming franchise presents a big storytelling universe to play in. And that’s exactly what drew showrunners Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Graham Wagner to the Prime Video TV adaptation in the first place.
“It’s more creatively interesting to be able to build our own story in the world that they’ve carved out for us,” Wagner told Den of Geek. “That’s historically been the trajectory of Fallout. It’s traded hands many times, with different creative teams taking it over. It’s kept it fresh, kept it relevant. We chose to just vainly look at this as our Fallout.”
Of course, a big storytelling universe also requires a big cast to fill it up. Prime Video’s Fallout isn’t wanting for compelling lead characters thanks to Lucy MacLean (Ella Purnell), Maximus (Aaron Moten), and The Ghoul...

We’re one step closer to getting a new season of Sweet Magnolias on our screens with news today that filming on the fourth season of the series is set to begin in January 2024 and run through to the summer.
In case you missed it, Sweet Magnolias was given a fourth-season renewal on October 19th, following the third-season premiere in the summer on July 20th, 2023. Since that renewal, the writers on the show have been quietly working away.
The last update we had regarding any production was shortly after the renewal, where we got our first look at the crew behind the show on a Zoom call.
Now, courtesy of ProductionWeekly, we’ve got a filming window for season 4, and it looks like it’s a lot longer than normal. Just as a reminder, season 3 began filming in July 2022 before wrapping in October 2022, and season 2 filming...

On Friday night, Oprah Winfrey hosted a swanky celebration for “Lawmen: Bass Reeves” executive producer and star David Oyelowo at the Sunset Tower Hotel in West Hollywood.
Photographers lined the driveway of the iconic hotel while a who’s who of Hollywood — including Gayle King, Lupita Nyong’o, Niecy Nash-Betts and the cast of the hit Paramount+ series — posed in front of a black and gold backdrop. Inside the luxurious venue, even more stars — like Macro chief Charles D. King, Yvonne Orji, O-t Fagbenle, Anna Diop, Edwina Findley, Mykelti Williamson, Mo McRae, Eugene Ashe, Deon and Roxanne Taylor — mixed and mingled as the party took over the whole of the bar and pool area on a windy, yet starry night in Los Angeles. The affair felt more like a family reunion than an industry function, with Oyelowo joined by his wife (and Yoruba Saxon producing partner) Jessica Oyelowo and their children Asher,...

It’s always a good time to revisit the “Final Destination” movies, one of the goriest, most (re)watchable horror franchises of all time.
The cast of characters trying to dodge Death in each film changes (for the most part), but the enigmatic and menacing coroner William Bludworth (“Candyman” star Tony Todd) is in every installment except the fourth movie.
Here’s where you can stream all five movies, where people who survived catastrophic disasters are killed off in inventively gruesome ways.
Tony Todd in “Final Destination” (New Line Cinema)
“Final Destination” (2000)
In the first film, student Alex Browning (Devon Sawa) has a terrifying vision that the plane his French class is taking to Paris will explode, killing everyone. He freaks out and leaves the plane, as do several other students and one teacher. The flight does, in fact, go up in flames … and then people begin dying in the...

Carrying around the label of America’s greatest living actor must be quite a tricky thing to have to do. You’re going about your business, trying to pick interesting projects, keeping yourself challenged. But people watch you and your acting, and want to know you, what makes you tick, how it feels to be one of America’s greatest living actors. Denzel Washington has managed to handle that mantle with grace, and while maintaining a very old-school kind of movie star mystique.
Washington’s endless charisma and ability to be both engagingly ironic and deeply sincere run through his most formative roles, along with a sense of conscience and responsibility – which he’s kicked against from time to time, too. Whichever way he pushes, he’s been malleable enough to find more gold.

[Editor’s Note: The following review contains spoilers for “Justified: City Primeval” Episode 4, “Kokomo.”]
A common occurrence in “Justified” sees Raylan (Timothy Olyphant) sit down with someone most people would consider scary, but rather than beg off, back down, or express much emotion (beyond his trademark frustration mixed with mild curiosity), the U.S. Marshall is forced to reflect on the nature of his duties. Past bosses like Mags Bennett (Margo Martindale) and Ellstin Limehouse (Mykelti Williamson) are perhaps the best examples, given the credible moral dilemmas each local leader elicits from Raylan, but challenges of principle can come from just about anyone. Like, say, Toma (Terry Kinney), the Albanian mob boss who invites Raylan for a chat after the “accident” suffered by his nephew, Skender (Alexander Pobutsky).
With a pushy Norbert (Norbert Leo Butz) in tow, Raylan arrives at the meeting planning to convince Toma to let Skender tell the truth: that he didn’t fall down the...

It’s time for another episode of the Wtf Happened to This Horror Movie? video series, and with this one we’re looking back at the fourth entry in the Final Destination franchise, a film called The Final Destination (watch it Here). This is the least popular of the five Final Destination movies we’ve seen to date – and you can hear all about it in the video embedded above!
Directed by David R. Few shows lend themselves to revivals naturally. “Justified,” the critically acclaimed FX drama starring Timothy Olyphant as Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens, might not seem like a prime candidate to return after the Emmy-winning series nailed its series finale in 2015. But the show is coming back on July 18 for a limited eight-episode run under the title “Justified: City Primeval.” From a logistical standpoint, bringing back TV’s coolest lawman makes sense: “Justified,” which featured mostly stand-alone, season-long arcs during its excellent six-season run, is perfectly suited to one-off limited series. It’s also a beloved show that balances comedy and drama well, has the respect of many in Hollywood and understands the unique narrative value of place in a way that many series do not.

This post contains spoilers for "Forrest Gump."
"I gotta find Bubba!" This, no doubt, was the thought in the mind of casting director Ellen Lewis before she settled on actor Mykelti Williamson ("Heat") for the role of Benjamin Buford "Bubba" Blue in "Forrest Gump." It's also the cry Gump, played by Tom Hanks, makes as he goes running back into the jungle to save his friend Bubba during the Vietnam War. Yet before Williamson landed the part and donned Bubba's lip attachment, controversial comedian Dave Chappelle — then a relative unknown — was in consideration for the part.
According to Comedy Hype, Williamson suggested they dumb down the character of Bubba, who was smarter in the Winston Groom novel on which "Forrest Gump" was based. The idea was to put Bubba and Forrest on more of a peer level, Iq-wise, so they could relate better. However, Bubba ultimately fares worse than Forrest...

A single white feather drifts out of the sky and lands on the well-traveled sneaker of Forrest Gump (Tom Hanks), a modest man with a big story to tell. Once he's done, a breeze carries the feather away again, perhaps to find another host with another tall tale.
"Forrest Gump" is an unlikely yarn about a young man who ran from bullies, ran for America, and ran for his life (and several others) in Vietnam; a ping-pong champion, shrimp boat captain, long-distance jogging guru, and inspiration for the Smiley Face; and a simple dude devoted to the two women in his life, his mama (Sally Fields) and his best friend Jenny (Robin Wright). Along the way, Forrest also manages to bumble into major points in American history, rubbing shoulders with presidents and the future king of rock 'n' roll.
As unbelievable as some of Forrest's adventures are, screenwriter Eric Roth...

When viewers meet single Dani (Nadine Ellis) and married mom Marlow (Tamala Jones), they learn the two have drifted apart due to a series of personal tragedies through the years. “We basically have found that there’s been a rift in our relationship since we lost our mother and it really has not come back together,” Ellis tells TV Insider. Adds Jones, “Marlow holds some resentment towards [Dani] because of how things were when the mother was still here. And then afterwards, Marlow feels that Dani had more important things to do other than family things.” In a divine twist, the sisters’ recently-deceased older brother Robert (Mykelti Williamson) holds the reconciliation key that could help heal...

It's not uncommon to hear of actors being put through boot camp to prepare for war movie roles, but when Oliver Stone made his long-gestating, Academy Award-winning Vietnam film "Platoon," he had his actors undergo training in the real jungle. "Platoon" was inspired by Stone's true-life experiences as a soldier in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and he wanted the cast to learn survival and bond like an actual military unit. This was harder for some cast members than others.
In a 2022 interview with The Guardian, Charlie Sheen related how he reached the end of his first day of location shooting for "Platoon," only to realize that "there was no bus pulling up" to take him and his castmates back to the hotel. "I looked at Johnny Depp and Forest Whitaker and said: 'I guess we're just staying here,'" he recalled. While out in the jungle, Sheen said,...

They join a growing cast that includes Rick Gonzalez and Brent Antonello as a new pair of detectives.
This addition promises to have more drama as Silas and Serrano may be the new targets of the Organized Crime task force.
For now, fans can get excited for the Season 3 cast of Law & Order: Organized Crime to keep growing.

"Forrest Gump" is one the most rewatchable movies to me because of its compelling cast of supporting characters. Yes, Tom Hanks earned his flowers for his portrayal of the slow-witted titular character who unknowingly influences historical U.S. events during the 20th century, but some nights I pop on the 1994 classic and find myself gravitating toward Forrest's elusive love interest, Jenny (played by Hanna R. Hall in childhood and by Robin Wright in adulthood). Other nights I find myself drawn to Forrest's Vietnam War platoon leader, Lieutenant Dan Taylor (Gary Sinise). But at the end of the day, I always circle back...

Olivia Castle (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) knows things are about to be bad. Despite her doctor’s kind assurances that her laser eye surgery is routine and harmless, despite the stuffed bear she clutches, Olivia cannot help but shudder. Strapped to a table, her head held still and her eyelids pulled open, Olivia only grows more agitated. In contrast, the doctor goes through the setup process in a patient monotone, calmly talking her through the process. So confident is he, that the doctor doesn’t even worry about stepping out for a moment, leaving Olivia temporarily unattended.
Of course, he doesn’t know what we know. After her life was saved by co-worker Sam Lawton (Nicholas D’Agosto), who convinced her and others to get off of a bus minutes before it was involved in a horrific accident, Olivia and her fellow survivors have been hunted by Death.

When the crime drama "Heat" hit theaters in June of 1995, it was a big deal. Even though Al Pacino and Robert De Niro both starred in the 1974 classic "The Godfather: Part II," their characters' stories take place in two separate time periods — and because neither character drives a DeLorean with a flux capacitor, the film ends without the two actors sharing any screen time together. More than two decades later, not only was "Heat" marketed as the movie in which fans would finally see Pacino and De Niro in the same scene together, but the film's trailer teased an epic collision...

On the docket for the NBC franchise’s season finales: Olivia Benson (Mariska Hargitay) makes her first visit to the new Sam Waterston–fronted Law & Order (8/7c) when NYPD detectives Bernard (Anthony Anderson) and Cosgrove (Jeffrey Donovan) seek intel about a recent domestic violence case. Back at Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (9/8c), Detective Rollins (Kelli Giddish) startles Carisi (Peter Scanavino), her prosecutor boyfriend, by reaching out to his slick predecessor Rafael Barba (Raúl Esparza) to defend someone Svu had previously helped. And on Law & Order: Organized Crime (10/9c), Stabler and his team take on drug kingpin Preston Webb (Mykelti Williamson) and the corrupt cops known as the Brotherhood.

Christopher Meloni and Denis Leary are getting their wires crossed. While working undercover with a group of rogue cops called The Brotherhood led by Frank Donnelly (Leary), Detective Elliot Stabler (Meloni) begins to ruffle some feathers, seen in E! News' exclusive clip from the April 28 episode of Law & Order: Organized Crime. When Stabler reveals that Preston Webb (Mykelti Williamson), the leader of The Marcy Killers, reached out to him personally about a job opportunity for the pair, Donnelly takes it personally. "I'm trying to keep everything above board here," Stabler says in the clip. "I don't want anything to come between what we got going on...

Do not mess with Preston Webb. That’s the lesson that the latest Law & Order: Organized Crime episode taught us about Mykelti Williamson‘s character — call him soft, and he’ll kill you — and it sounds like there’s more of that to come. But we can’t help but wonder if that includes Webb finding out that Carmen “Nova” Riley (Nona Parker Johnson) — whom he trusts so much, he made her his second-in-command of the entire Marcy organization — is undercover. If he does, how might he react? And what can we expect from Webb’s interactions with Detective Elliot Stabler (Christopher Meloni) in the April 14 episode? TV Insider spoke with Williamson to get the scoop. I definitely do not want to mess with Webb. He gets accused of going soft, and we see him prove just how untrue that is. Chopper had said he lost his mind, but...

Is Carmen “Nova” Riley (Nona Parker Johnson) about to get in over her head while undercover with the Marcy Organization on Law & Order: Organized Crime? If you ask Sergeant Ayanna Bell (Danielle Moné Truitt), yes. But Nova refuses to let her pull her. In the last episode, Preston Webb (Mykelti Williamson) consolidated the current structure of the organization and made her his second-in-command, reporting directly to him. Though Bell pointed out that’s more than she signed up for, Nova argued she didn’t come this far to quit. She knew that the sergeant is worried about losing another undercover, but she assured her she knows what she’s doing. And they’ll continue to butt heads in the March 17 episode. Watch a sneak peek above. So does she? Johnson teases what’s ahead for Nova. Nova’s now second in command of the entire Marcy organization. What does that...

"You know, we don't need anyone to save us..." "Just trying to save myself." IFC Films has revealed the first official trailer for Clean, a thriller from filmmaker Paul Solet. This was originally supposed to premiere at the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival last year, it's now being released in January from IFC. A garbage collector, tormented by his past, is sucked into the orbit of a local crime boss and must face the violence of his past to find redemption in this bloody thrill ride. Tribeca describes it as "a brooding and sullen snapshot of failed redemption" and "a hyper-violent meditation on the power of the past and the struggle for salvation." Clean is produced by and stars Adrien Brody as the "Trash Man", with a cast featuring Glenn Fleshler, Richie Merritt, Chandler Ari DuPont, Mykelti Williamson, RZA, Michelle Wilson, and John Bianco.
