Before getting out of the business of producing scripted content, Cinemax's lineup of shows was truly phenomenal.
The network brought great shows like Strikeback, Warrior (now on Max), and Banshee to life.
These shows were well-written, with great characters and stories. The action was top-tier, making action buffs weak on the knees with every sequence.
Banshee's narrative, storyline, direction, and enigmatic characters stood out. The show is one of the most underrated shows from the 2010s.
After seeing its lead male actor's phenomenal skills in a currently airing show, I was compelled to check up on the cast and see what they've been up to in the years since the show ended.
Antony Starr -- Lucas Hood

Mark Margolis, a veteran actor with hundreds of credits dating back to the 1970s but perhaps best known for his Emmy-nominated portrayal of cartel don Hector “Tio” Salamanca on TV’s Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul, died Thursday at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City following a short illness. He was 83.
His death was announced by son Morgan Margolis, the CEO of Knitting Factory Entertainment. Morgan Margolis said he and Mark’s wife Jacqueline were at his bedside at the time of death.
“He was one of a kind,” said manager Robert Kolker of Red Letter Entertainment. “We won’t see his likes again. He was a treasured client and a lifelong friend. I was lucky to know him.”
Born on November 26, 1939 in Philadelphia, Margolis briefly attended Temple University before moving to New York City to study acting, first under Stella Adler at the Actors Studio and subsequently...

Joanna Page has recalled an embarrassing moment from the first ever Love Actually read-through.
The Gavin & Stacey star appears in Richard Curtis’s 2003 Christmas romcom as Judy, a body double working in film.
Her character is required to perform sex scenes alongside fellow actor John (Martin Freeman), but the pair end up striking up a tentative romantic relationship off-camera.
Appearing on Loose Women on Tuesday (13 December), Page admitted that she’d only ever seen the film once.
She then shared a story from the set of the film, when she was sat at the read-through alongside the likes of Emma Thompson, Alan Rickman and Liam Neeson.
“I just remember getting there, I was 23, brand new,” she said. ‘Like, ‘Oh my god, I can’t believe everyone is here.”
She then recalled how everyone was present apart from the women Colin Frissell (Kris Marshall) meets in America, played by January Jones,...

One night, at a party, some friends and I were discussing Tim Curry when we came to realize just how formative he was to all our childhoods. There's no shortage of options to choose from when it comes to his most memorable work, either. Sure, there are his roles in "The Rocky Horror Picture Show" and "Clue," and they're spectacular, no doubt about it. But my all-time favorite Curry moments are the ones where he goes ridiculously hard for no real reason other than ... well, because he can.
We're talking Curry's rendition of the song "Anything Can Happen On Halloween" from the 1986 TV movie "The Worst Witch," a performance in which the actor somehow makes the lyric "Has anybody seen my tambourine?" sound deeply sensual. Or the way he commits to his "Romanian" accent as the duplicitous treasure-hunter Herkermer Homolka in "Congo." Although, when it comes to spawning memes, few...

Tonight, a long quest for survival comes to an end. The 100 is saying goodbye after seven seasons and if the past few episodes (and the past seven seasons) are any indication, it's not going to go out with a straight up happy ending. That's simply not The 100's style, as showrunner Jason Rothenberg reminded us when we pointed out how particularly cruel the show has been these past few weeks. First Diyoza (Ivana Milicevic) sacrificed herself, then Clarke (Eliza Taylor) killed Bellamy (Bob Morley) to protect Madi (Lola Flanery), then Madi essentially became catatonic. It's a lot! "We've never been kind in that way," Rothenberg said. "We have always tried to have the...

Everything that Charmaine Diyoza was is everything that we want to be.
From the second, she crashed into The 100 universe; it was apparent that we were in the presence of an extraordinary woman.
Diyoza had a full circle storyline, from her time as the new big bad to the familiar hero that we had to root for, all in just three seasons. She was a chilling antagonist, who only needed some much-deserved screentime to showcase her development.
It all accumulated into a The 100 Season 7 arc that focused on Diyoza's journey as a mother. She was able to find momentary peace with Hope and Octavia on Sky Ring during The 100 Season 7 Episode 2, and from there, things took a turn.
But Diyoza took it in a stride, doing everything she could to get back to her daughter. But time dilation made that reunion different than either of them expected, but still just as emotional.

This The 100 review contains spoilers
The 100 Season 7 Episode 10
With every episode we watch, The 100 tussles with what its ultimate legacy be. A show where in the end, characters grow, move on, and fill their wounds with love and redemption? Or one where everyone is doomed to inevitable violence? Will Hope and Echo be able to turn toward their loved ones and heal from their respective ordeals, or will Hope become exactly what her mother tried to shield her from, while Echo commits an unnecessary Mt. Weather-level genocide in vengeance?
At least for tonight, the answer is toward love and hope, though that certainly seems to be the trend. The fact that we’re even discussing it certainly tips things in favor of the positive, as does the overall trajectory for the last season and a half. Raven’s rescue of Echo from herself was a much more earnest redemption for...

While we anticipated that The 100‘s final season would bring its share of major deaths, we honestly didn’t see this week’s tragic twist coming. And we never could have predicted that this particular character’s death would affect us so deeply.
We’re speaking, of course, about Charmaine Diyoza — the ruthless terrorist-turned-mama bear played by Ivana Milicevic. In the final moments of Wednesday’s episode, Diyoza sacrificed herself to save her daughter’s life, ultimately falling victim to the same mysterious crystallization process that wiped out the original Bardoans.

The long wait is finally over. Almost.
The extended trailer for The 100 Season 7 is officially out and we are back in the battleground again.
There were plenty of surprises delivered in this sneak peek, specifically with the amount of travel that fans can look forward to seeing. Since the Anomaly is now a confirmed wormhole, the possibilities are truly endless.
But what is even more surprising are the enemies that are popping up this time around, people we know and love.
Diyoza is a big one, not exactly an enemy, but she seems to not be taking into account Octavia's wish to return to Bellamy.
It isn't clear why Diyoza won't leave, but she definitely doesn't want Octavia to go either.
Then we have the actual confusing lack of Bellamy in the trailer itself, except for two scenes from The 100 Season 6 there is no new glimpse at what he is...

"What is wrong with you?!" Oscope Labs & Factory 25 has debuted an official trailer for an indie satirical comedy titled The Misogynists, the latest from filmmaker Onur Tukel. This premiered at a few smaller film festivals in 2017, but has been quietly awaiting release ever since. Mostly because it's about two assholes and comes with a title as blatant as "The Misogynists". In a single, fully-stocked hotel room on the night of the 2016 general election, two Trump supporters celebrate the results. "Led by Dylan Baker's gleefully deranged performance, Tukel's tongue-in-cheek exploration of a divided America digs deep into the night's mass existential crisis and uncovers some disquieting truths." In addition to Dylan Baker, this also stars Trieste Kelly Dunn, Ivana Milicevic, Lou Jay Taylor, Matt Walton, Christine Campbell, Nana Mensah, Rudy De La Cruz, Cynthia Thomas, Darrill Rosen, Karl Jacob, and Matt Hopkins. "The makers of this film would like to...

Strike Back‘s final mission will begin on Friday, Feb. 14 at 10/9c. So your Valentine’s Day plans are all set!
That evening, Cinemax announced Tuesday, the action-filled drama will kick off Season 7 — its final run of episodes. If this sounds familiar, that’s because the current series is a revamp of the original Strike Back, which originally ended in 2015 but was revived (in a manner of speaking) the following year.

The 100 wouldn't exist in the space that it does if not for the iconic Raven Reyes, a part of the legacy that the show prepares to leave behind during it's seventh and final season.
Lindsey Morgan took on the role of Raven Reyes in the first season, and since then has continued to showcase the strength and the courage that comes with the character that we all know and love.
She has approached the role with such skill and such talent, demonstrating how a fan-favorite character is created based on putting emotion and soul into each individual scene.
Coming off of The 100 Season 6, Raven has suffered some more loss and has had some anxiety-ridden challenges throughout Sanctum. From saving the people that she cares about to trying to hold on to her humanity, there is plenty still left undone moving into the last season of The 100.

The 100 Season 6 came with plenty of surprises when it came to Sanctum, but it was characters like Gabriel Santiago that really made the story as interesting as it became along the way.
So it was a wonderful and pleasant surprise that these new faces get to stick around, going into Season 7 with as much intrigue as when they got introduced.
At the heart of that transition is Gabriel Santiago, played by the extremely talented Chuku Modu, and his journey to continue to do better in a world that is destined to throw obstacles in his way.
Chuku Modu took the audience by surprise, first taking on the role of the mysterious but intense Xavier when he came across Octavia and Diyoza in the Sanctum woods.

The 100 Season 6 Episode 13 may have just aired, but already fans have questions about what comes next and what the introduction of Hope Diyoza means for Charmaine in the next season.
The potential after Diyoza went off into the Anomaly is mixed in the concept of time and another dimension, all of which doesn't even begin to touch on who took her hostage.
One thing is clear though, everyone wants to see Charmaine Diyoza back because it just isn't The 100 without her anymore.

The 100 only recently returned for its sixth season on The CW, but the network has already renewed the popular sci-fi drama for a seventh.
There's even more good news:
The 100 Season 7 will span 16 episodes, taking the series to its 100th episode, according to showrunner, Jason Rothenberg.
"16! #the100 #100ofThe100," he shared on Twitter on Wednesday, confirming a rumor that had been doing the rounds on social media.
The episode order is an increase of three episodes as opposed to the previous three seasons.

The 100 Season 2 and The 100 Season 3 each had 16 episodes, but those seasons started much earlier than what the series does now.
The 100 Season 5 and The 100 Season 6 had April premieres, but the network is actively looking to have more content on the schedule around the year.
As such, this increase does not suggest a much earlier premiere at this moment in time.

Every week, IndieWire asks a select handful of TV critics two questions and publishes the results on Tuesday.
This week’s question: Who’s your favorite action star on TV? Why? Old, current, and upcoming shows count as long as you’ve seen screeners.
Marisa Roffman (@marisaroffman), Give Me My Remote
“Alias'” Sydney freakin’ Bristow is the action hero I still secretly aspire to one day turn into. She was the girl next door who could take down anyone, whether it was a doppelgänger of her best friend or a family member. She was a deceptive (snarky) badass who could save the world. Ugh, I miss Sydney so much.
Alan Sepinwall (@sepinwall), Rolling Stone
Even if I’m disqualifying someone like Dwayne Johnson because he doesn’t do action things on “Ballers,” or someone like Bruce Lee because “The Green Hornet” was before my time, TV sure doesn’t lack for action heroes.

Now that the countdown to Christmas is over, it’s time to look forward to the next holy holiday: The 100‘s fifth season premiere.
Granted, we don’t know when that’s happening, nor do we have a trailer with which to whet our collective whistle. Fortunately, we do have Jason Rothenberg. (Speaking of time jumps, I feel like we could all use one right about now.

The third Children Of The Corn movie is a step up, and a really fun movie...
The film: After the disappearance of their father, brothers Eli (Daniel Cerny) and Joshua (Ron Melendez), are adopted by a Chicago couple, William (Jim Metzler) and Amanda (Nancy Lee Grahn). The brothers are from Gatlin, Nebraska and are used to more conservative ways, but slowly Joshua acclimatises to his new environment. However, Eli is less keen to shed the religion of He Who Walks Behind The Rows and begins scheming to lure in his fellow students with his magic brainwashing corn.

Before Edward Nygma fully embraces his Riddler persona, Gotham fans have much to look forward to when Jerome once again walks among the living in tonight’s episode, “Mad City: Smile Like You Mean It.”
Thanks to TV Insider, a fresh batch of images have been released in advance of said episode depicting Jerome acting more Joker-ish than ever before. In addition to sporting a reattached face that is no doubt a nod to the Batman: Death of the Family comic book arc, we see him embrace his inner showman when he dons a ringleader’s outfit for a circus that we can only guess won’t be fun for the whole family.
Actor Cameron Monaghan, the proto-Joker himself, had this to say regarding his highly anticipated return:
“I really can’t wait for people to see it. We have a few different looks [for him]…it looks really great.

Following its holiday hiatus, Gotham returned to the airwaves in style yesterday evening thanks to the midseason premiere of “Mad City: Ghosts.”
In many ways, the episode laid the groundwork for the remainder of season 3, as Mayor Oswald Cobblepot’s reign begins to falter under pressure from Ed Nygma. But without question, it was the long-anticipated return of Jerome Valeska that stole the headlines. Resurrecting the show’s proto-Joker has been long on the cards, but it appears as though Gotham‘s creative team are also leaving the door open for a Harley Quinn cameo appearance further down the line – likely during the season 3 finale.
During an interview with TV Guide, producer John Stephens teased that “we might see [Quinn] in Episode 22,” which will seemingly tee up season 4’s narrative arc. All of this is yet to be confirmed, so don’t go banking on a Harley Quinn cameo in Gotham season 3 just yet.

In the mid-season premiere of Gotham last night we saw the return of a very creepy looking Jerome, who will most likely end up being The Joker. It looks like later this season he will be joined by the show's own version of Harley Quinn!

I'm excited and curious to see how Gotham's version of this character will turn out. There's no information on what that might look like, so we'll just have to wait and see.
