Lindsay Lohan and Cash Warren Never Hook Up

4 December 2009 10:09 PM, PST | Aceshowbiz | See recent Aceshowbiz news »

There is nothing romantic between Lindsay Lohan and Cash Warren, a source close to the film producer and his actress wife Jessica Alba tells People. "The reports are totally untrue," insists the source referring to online stories that the two hooked up after meeting at West Hollywood hot spot Villa the night of November 19.

Lindsay and Cash, indeed, know each other, but their relationship is purely professional. "They are friendly - that's it," insists the source. Lindsay herself has denied reports of her kissing Cash during the mentioned outing, branding them "absurd." She, moreover, argued, "He is married. I wouldn't dare kiss him."

Cash and Jessica, in the meantime, haven't addressed the much-talked issue just yet. But, according to the same source the pair finds the rumors "hurtful" and "so ridiculous." "They are very happy together and busy being parents. They're looking forward to spending the holidays together with family, »

Sundance Reveals 2010 Non-Competition Slate

4 December 2009 5:24 PM, PST | newsinfilm.com | See recent newsinfilm news »

On Wednesday the Sundance Film Festival unveiled the films competing in late January 2010.  Yesterday they announced the rest of the line-up of independent films vying for attention for industry types and the curious public.

The entire list of 53 films is below, but here are a few that stood out to me from the premieres alone:

Mumblecore directors the Duplass Brothers, have a new, untitled movie starring an unusually high-profile cast compared to their usual improvisational crew.  John C. Reilly, Marisa Tomei, Jonah Hill, and Catherine Keener.  Reilly and Keener are actually in two films at the 2010 festival.

The Company Men, starring Ben Affleck, Kevin Costner, Maria Bello, Tommy Lee Jones, Chris Cooper, Rosemarie DeWitt about corporate downsizing.

Rodrigo Cortes’ Buried, starring Ryan Reynolds as a man buried alive in a coffin.  I’ve read the script and its great.  More on that as soon as I can.

Did Lindsay Lohan make out with Jessica Alba's husband Cash Warren at an L.A. lounge recently? Not a chance, a source close to Alba and Warren tells People. "The reports are totally untrue," the source says, denying that Lohan and Warren got amorous at Villa on Nov. 19 as some online sites have reported. "They never hooked up." True, the two know each other "professionally," the source says, "[but] they are friendly - that's it." Sundance 2010: First Images From Michael Winterbottom Thriller The Killer Inside Me

4 December 2009 10:59 AM, PST | Twitch | See recent Twitch news »

Expect Michael Winterbottom's The Killer Inside Me to be one of the big buzz films of Sundance 2010.  Why?  First, because it's Winterbottom and good Winterbottom is very good indeed.  Second, because it has a stellar cast anchored by the always impressive Casey Affleck back by strong character players such as Elias Koteas and a couple faces for the mainstream in Kate Hudson and Jessica Alba.  And, finally, because apparently Affleck pounds one of those faces - namely Alba's - into the dirt, hard, in a beating sequence brutal enough that festival organizers are already cautioning the press about it. And there you have the perfect storm for a media phenomenon.  What's it about?

Based on the novel by legendary pulp writer Jim Thompson, Michael Winterbottom's The Killer Inside Me tells the story of handsome, charming, unassuming small town sheriff's deputy Lou Ford.

Lou has a bunch of problems. »

Lindsay Lohan loves to party and stir up trouble, among other things, but one thing she's not into is other women's husbands. Earlier this week there were reports that Lindsay was seen "making out" with Jessica Alba's husband Cash Warren at Villa Lounge in Los Angeles. According to Us Weekly's "eyewitnesses," Lindsay and Cash were seen kissing, "Lip on tongue... "It was raw. They were not shy!" But Lindsay was quick to deny the rumors claiming they are just working on a project together. Late at night? With drinks involved? Um...sure! And now sources tell... »

'The Runaways' Among 2010 Sundance Non-Competition Line-Up

3 December 2009 11:01 PM, PST | Aceshowbiz | See recent Aceshowbiz news »

On Thursday, December 3, Sundance Institute has announced movies which are included on the non-competition line-up of the 26th Sundance Film Festival. Among the list, there are "The Runaways", a biopic starring Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart, and "The Killer Inside Me" that has Kate Hudson and Jessica Alba as part of the cast. Both movies are enlisted in Premieres category.

Non-competitive categories usually focus on bigger-budget films with well-known stars and a distributor already in place. However, organizers of this year's festival have added a new section, called Next, which is dedicated to extremely low-budget movies that cost under $500,000.

Speaking about the new category, Sundance lead programmer Trevor Groth stated, "There's this whole movement of getting back to the low-budget aesthetic in storytelling, to the kind of film we'd see a couple decades ago. That's why we created this new section called Next, which is a direct response to that »

2010 Sundance Film Festival Out-of-Competition Films: Premieres

3 December 2009 2:34 PM, PST | Collider.com | See recent Collider.com news »

Yesterday we gave you a list of all the films playing in-competition at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival.  We now have the list of the films playing out-of-competition and they’re divided up into four categories: Premieres, Next, Spotlight, and Park City at Midnight. Since combining these lists would be a lot to read for just one article, we’ve broken it up to give each category its own article.

Know that while there are a lot of films playing in-competition, most of the films to get buzz will be coming from the out-of-competition categories.  First up are the premiers which include John WellsThe Company Men starring Ben Affleck, Tommy Lee Jones and Kevin Costner; Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini’s The Extra Man starring Katie Holmes, John C. Reilly, and Paul Dano; Get Low starring Robert Duvall and Bill Murray; Michael Winterbottom’s The Killer Inside Me starring Casey Affleck, »

Full Sundance line-up announced...and it's a doozy!

3 December 2009 2:08 PM, PST | QuietEarth.us | See recent QuietEarth news »

In addition to the competition titles which were announced yesterday, Sundance has announced the remainder of their line-up and it includes some titles we’re already familiar with along with a huge number of premieres.

Also on the docket are two new series: Next which showcases low/no budget films and Spotlight which highlights films which festival programmers deem worthy of extra love including Enter the Void (review) and Lourdes (the trailer for which I really liked).

I’m particularly excited to see some of the titles in the New Frontier program but overall, the line-up is an impressive one but the Kristen Stewart fan in me is excited to see her turn as Joan Jett in The Runaways and I think it’s fair to say we’re all dying to see Vincenzo Natali’s hotly anticipated Splice (trailer).

In the Midnight section, Adam Green's Frozen is sounding mighty find, »

Pics from Kristen Stewart’s Very Own Special Stripper Movie

3 December 2009 9:22 AM, PST | Beyond Hollywood | See recent Beyond Hollywood news »

When you think of starlets taking it off for a movie role, you think Jessica Alba b.s.’ing her way through “Sin City” (really, Jessica, a stripper that keeps her clothes on? Get the eff outta here), or Natalie Portman “daring” to take it all off in “Closer”, but, you know, not really doing so. Then you have Jessica Biel, who actually — gasp! — did an honest to goodness strip in “Powder Blue”. The latest starlet to take the stripper movie plunge is “Twilight’s” Kristen Stewart, who apparently got the time between shooting the 50 “Twilight” movies that she’s contracted for to make a little indie flick called “Welcome to the Rileys”, in which Bella takes it off for that fat dude from “The Sopranos”. Okay, I don’t know if she actually takes it off, but she is playing the stripper, and these pics (via ReelLoop) would seem »
