A striking home once owned by sports icon and three-time heavyweight champion Muhammad Ali has hit the auction block.
The seven-bedroom Los Angeles mansion was built in the Italian Renaissance style in 1916. Ali purchased the property in 1979 and lived there until 1984 with his third wife, Veronica, and their children Leila and Hana. Ali hosted numerous celebrities at his home, including Clint Eastwood, Sylvester Stallone, and Michael Jackson, according to Robb Report.
The house is one of 70 located within Fremont Place, an exclusive gated community in the city’s desirable Hancock Park neighborhood. John C. Austin, the architect behind LA’s Griffith Observatory and LA City Hall, designed the home.

When the nominations for the 1959 Primetime Emmys were revealed, 13-year-old supporting candidate Johnny Crawford (“The Rifleman”) became the youngest male acting contender in TV academy history and then retained the title for the next six and a half decades. After so many years of his record appearing to be unbreakable, it was finally shattered this summer by Best Drama Guest Actor nominee Keivonn Montreal Woodard, who turned 10 this February. His historic bid for HBO’s “The Last of Us” makes him not only a credit to child actors but also to deaf performers, as no male one had ever earned Emmy recognition before.
Woodard appears in two first-season episodes of “The Last of Us” as Sam Burrell, a survivor of both leukemia and a pandemic-induced apocalypse who lives under the guardianship of his adult brother, Henry (Lamar Johnson). In his submitted episode, “Endure and Survive,” his comic book-loving character forms...

“The Wonder Years” has been canceled at ABC after two seasons, Variety has confirmed.
Based on the 1988 series of the same name, the reimagined show followed a Black middle-class family in Montgomery, Alabama, through the point of view of imaginative 12-year-old Dean. As he looks back on his childhood with the wisdom of his adult years, Dean’s hopeful and humorous recollections show how his family found their “wonder years” during the late 1960s.
Don Cheadle, narrated the series as adult Dean Williams. He was joined among the cast by Elisha “Ej” Williams as Dean Williams, Dulé Hill as Bill Williams, Saycon Sengbloh as Lillian Williams, Laura Kariuki as Kim Williams, Julian Lerner as Brad Hitman, Amari O’Neil as Cory Long and Milan Ray as Keisa Clemmons.
“The Wonder Years” joins “Big Sky,” “Alaska Daily” and “The Company You Keep” among the list of ABC’s canceled scripted series this year.

“The Wonder Years” reboot will not return for a third season at ABC, TheWrap has learned.
The network has chosen to cancel the sitcom starring Elisha “Ej” Williams, Dulé Hill and Saycon Sengbloh, which ran for two seasons. The cancellation comes just over a month after the coming-of-age drama aired the finale for its sophomore season, which saw the Williams family head to Disneyland.

Exclusive: ABC has opted not to proceed with a third season of The Wonder Years. The news comes a month after the reboot of the classic coming-of-age comedy wrapped its Season 2 run on the network.
Originally slated for a midseason return, The Wonder Years‘ second season was pushed to summer, hinting at the show’s potential fate as summer has traditionally been used as a destination for broadcast scripted series that have either been canceled or are likely to be.
The Wonder Years ranks as the lowest-rated and least watched ABC series this summer, behind the network’s unscripted slate. It also would rank last among ABC’s series that aired during the 2022-23 season.

This year’s Emmy nominees will highlight a more diverse crop of actors, with Latino performers having a particularly strong showing.
Of course, much of that is thanks to Pedro Pascal, who has become the most-nominated Latino in a single year with three noms. He’s recognized for his work in “The Last of Us” as lead drama actor, “Saturday Night Live” as guest comedy actor and “Patagonia: Life on the Edge of the World” as the narrator. Pascal’s nomination for HBO’s dystopian video game adaptation makes him only the second Latino ever recognized in the drama category after Jimmy Smits’ four consecutive noms for “NYPD Blue” from 1996-1999. But there were some notable Latino stars who didn’t hear their names read — namely, Diego Luna, who was snubbed for Disney’s “Andor,” despite its best drama series nomination.

Note: The following contains spoilers from “The Wonder Years” Season 2 Premiere.
This is what an ally looks like! “The Wonder Years” star Dulé Hill celebrated the introduction of a queer character into the Williams family’s 1960s-era world and hopes the storyline will spark conversations and empathy amid renewed anti-drag and anti-trans rhetoric in America today.
Wednesday night’s Season 2 premiere of the ABC comedy series followed Dean (Elisha “Ej” Williams) heading to New York City with his father, after Bill (Hill) got a once-in-a-lifetime songwriting gig for the summer. The father-son duo befriended their neighbor Lonnie (Tituss Burgess), a performer who dresses as a woman both on and off the stage.
The first time Bill and Dean saw Lonnie in a dress, Bill was resistant to engage. Dean was confused but unmoved. Later, Lonnie sat with Dean after he was locked out of the apartment he was sharing with...

Dean and Bill Williams’ adventure in New York City is about to take a loud turn on “The Wonder Years.”
Wednesday’s Season 2 premiere of the ABC comedy series, titled “One Small Step,” picks up in the summer of 1969 as the father-son duo head to the Big Apple for a career-making songwriting gig for Bill (Dulé Hill). The trip introduces both members of the Williams family to “new walks of life” while in the city, according to the episode’s official logline — and that apparently includes getting in touch with their “primal” feelings.
In a video clip shared exclusively with TheWrap, viewers watch as Bill and Dean (Elisha “Ej” Williams) share a meal with newcomer Lonnie (“Schmigadoon!” star Tituss Burgess), who encourages Bill to try “primal screaming.”

ABC is relying on spin-offs from “The Bachelor” franchise and a stacked unscripted slate to fill up its fall schedule amid the ongoing Hollywood writers’ strike.
The network set its programming for the fall season, headlined by the premiere of new spin-off series “The Golden Bachelor” — featuring an older suitor looking for a second chance at love with contemporary contestants — along with the anticipated broadcast return of “Dancing With the Stars” to the network’s Monday night programming.
The network notably declined to set a timeline for the return of its renewed scripted series — including network fan-favorites “Grey’s Anatomy,” “The Conners” and the newly acquired “9-1-1” — as the ongoing WGA strike impacts productions industrywide.
Reruns of “Abbott Elementary” airing back-to-back at 9 p.m. Et/Pt Wednesdays are the only scripted show on the fall schedule.

In 2021, 15-year-old Mckenna Grace broke new ground as the first child ever nominated for a guest acting Emmy. The notice came for her performance as Esther Keyes on Hulu’s “The Handmaid’s Tale,” which could bring her another Best Drama Guest Actress bid this year. She also currently has a shot at a nomination for Best Movie/Limited Supporting Actress for Peacock’s “A Friend of the Family,” which would make her the all-time youngest performer with mentions in multiple Emmy categories.
Grace, whose 17th birthday will precede the 2023 Emmy nominations announcement by 17 days, appears on “A Friend of the Family” as Jan Broberg, a future actress who was kidnapped at ages 12 and 14 by her neighbor, Robert Berchtold. Fresh off the $1 billion-plus success of “The Super Mario Bros. Movie,” the next big-deal video game adaptation has dropped its first trailer and poster. Rather than attempt to make a workable fictional narrative from a series of racing video games, the filmmakers have opted to adapt a true story connected to the games.
The film, penned by Jason Hall and Zach Baylin, and helmed by “District 11” director Neil Blomkamp, is based on the true story of Jann Mardenborough (played by Archie Madekwe in the film) whose video game skills won a series of Nissan competitions and allowed him a shot at being an actual race car driver. “From Gamer to Racer,” the tagline states and it’s an interesting narrative that would be intriguing even sans the IP surrounding it.

I laugh when I hear people talk about how “Succession” is a sure thing winner for Best Drama Series and that it’s such a lock nothing whatsoever can derail it. Ha! Ha I say! Oh, it’s naturally going to be nominated and will likely remain the overwhelming frontrunner clear through Emmy season and up to Emmy night, all right. In the Gold Derby combined Emmy odds, it’s running away with this race, with “The White Lotus” Sicily” a very distant second. Maitland Ward , who played Rachel McGuire on ABC’s “Boy Meets World” from 1998 to 2000, said that “girls were treated like meat,” by the “Disney machine.”
“You had to be virginal, but you also had to be sexual,” Ward told Fox News Digital in an interview published Friday.

It felt good didn’t it? Watching a fantasy film where folks could crack a smile and actually enjoy their adventure. There was certainly danger and monsters in Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves—not to mention the roleplaying tabletop game’s namesakes!—but that didn’t mean you couldn’t enjoy the ride.
In the last 20 years, fantasy has largely come to take itself exceedingly seriously where the fate of kingdoms or the entire world often hangs in the balance, and the central heroes who may start merry end the story broken, traumatized, and in a few instances ready to murder their homicidal lover… who is also their aunt.
This past weekend’s winsome D&d movie did away with all that, instead favoring some good old-fashioned romping to go along with a pure cut of high fantasy. If you enjoyed the experience, here are some other fantasy movies we recommend to continue the fun.

Though "Saturday Night Live" is technically for adult audiences - leading to its late-night airtime - the show is a fan favorite for people of all ages. And while most of the people who've stepped up to host the show were old enough to legally drink at the after party, there were 13 hosts who got the nod from Lorne Michaels to host the sketch show before their 21st birthday - "Wednesday" and "Scream 6" star Jenna Ortega is the latest to join their company.
She's set to host "SNL" this March, making her debut at just 20 years old. Other superstars who share this honor include Britney Spears, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, and Taylor Lautner. Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen also hosted the show together, and Miley Cyrus took over hosting honors shortly after "Hannah Montana" ended. But some "SNL" hosts have been even younger. Ryan Reynolds must sure love Christmas. Not only did he co-star in the holiday rom-com Just Friends, but he also has the A Christmas Carol spin Spirited in theaters and on Apple TV+ (read our review here). Oh, and he wrote a Deadpool Christmas movie, which Santa really needs to pull through on!
As he revealed in a new interview, Ryan Reynolds has indeed co-scripted a Deadpool holiday movie. “Four years ago [Deadpool co-writers] Rhett Reese, Paul Wernick and I wrote a Christmas movie starring Deadpool. But it got lost in the shuffle of Disney acquiring Fox and it never got made.” That Reynolds pulled this out of his sack during the holiday season makes this a tantalizing tease for fans of the Merc with a Mouth.

Before streaming, cable television never let us down on delivering seasonally themed content. Back when we'd watch an episode a week for a season spanning several months, it was common for sitcoms or other shows to shift gears in the latter part of the calendar year to a string of holiday specials. Under the binge model that dominated early streaming, however, it felt to me like we lost this tradition for a while, as showrunners could not as easily plan for the holidays if the audience was watching entire seasons in a weekend.
When I was growing up, the Walt Disney Company was a strong contributor to the holiday spirit in my home through original movies and special episodes on Disney Channel or through ABC Family's (now Freeform's) "25 Days of Christmas" and "13 Nights of Halloween" extended movie marathons. But even Disney has needed time to realign its holiday...

O Come, all ye “Deadpool” fans, you just might get a full Christmas movie starring the merc with a mouth at some point. According to star Ryan Reynolds, he and his team actually wrote it a while ago, it just became a casualty of corporate changeover.
In a new interview with The Big Issue, Reynolds admitted that, after starring in “Spirited” for Apple TV+ this year, he likely wouldn’t take on another full musical, but that he’s very much open to a musical number for Deadpool in the future. Reynolds then revealed that he and the writers behind “Deadpool” actually wrote an entire Christmas movie for the character several years ago, though it wasn’t specifically a musical.

ABC has pushed the second season premiere of comedy series The Wonder Years to summer 2023. The network says a specific premiere date will be announced at a later time.
The comedy, which had originally been slated to return in midseason, wasn’t included in ABC’s midseason schedule released earlier today.
Although it will be awhile before we see a second season, ABC announced additional guest casting. In addition to previously announced Patti Labelle, Wayne Brady, Tituss Burgess, Donald Faison, Phoebe Robinson and Bradley Whitford are among the actors set for guest-starring roles.
Inspired by the 1988 series of the same name, The Wonder Years is an original coming-of-age comedy that tells the story of the Williams family during the late 1960s. The series is narrated through the point of view of imaginative 12-year-old Dean, as he navigates growing up in a Black middle-class family in Montgomery, Alabama, and the friendship,...

The Wonder Years has been bumped to summer.
The second-year comedy was left off of ABC’s newly announced midseason schedule and will not air until a date to be determined in summer 2023.
Sources say the scheduling has nothing to do with original star Fred Savage, who in May was fired from the ABC reimagining following a misconduct investigation. Instead, the move has more to do with ABC prioritizing first-year comedy Not Dead Yet. The Gina Rodriguez-led series will premiere Wednesday, Feb. 8, with a two-episode debut that will lead into the newly announced final season of A Million Little Things. The comedy, based on the work by author Alexandra Potter, will also be promoted out of big midseason events including American Idol, the Oscars and the NFL.

(Welcome to The Daily Stream, an ongoing series in which the /Film team shares what they've been watching, why it's worth checking out, and where you can stream it.)
The Movie: "The Princess Bride"
Where You Can Stream It: Disney+
The Pitch: Maybe you've watched "The Princess Bride" a thousand times. Maybe you've never seen it. Either way, I implore you to do it again. I fall into the "thousand times" category, but it had been a while. If you have not yet experienced the wonder that is "The Princess Bride," here's the deal with your future favorite comedy (I feel pretty confident in saying that).
The story begins with a young boy (Fred Savage) who is home sick. His grandfather (Peter Falk) comes to read him a story. At first, the kid is annoyed with it all and wants to skip the "kissing parts," but later gets into the tale.

It seems as though into every television watching generation, a series about a close-knit group of deranged friends with little regard for the world at large is born. In the 1990s, it was "Seinfeld." In the 2000s, it was "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia." While "Seinfeld" closed up shop after nine seasons, amazingly, "It's Always Sunny" is a show that just keeps chugging along despite its incredibly humble origins (which include the original pilot being shot for a measly 200), to the point where it has, remarkably, become TV's longest-running sitcom.
And while the core cast of Rob McElhenney, Glenn Howerton, Charlie Day, and Kaitlin Olson carried the show through its first season, it wasn't until a seasoned sitcom legend came on board that things really started to take shape. And no, we're not talking about Frank Reynolds himself, Danny DeVito. While DeVito's casting in season 2 proved crucial to the series carrying on,...

Judging from the trailer, or the poster, Zach Cregger’s Barbarian seems to follow a classic horror movie premise, updated for the tech age: A young woman checks in to an Airbnb in Detroit, only to find a man — and assorted terrors — waiting inside. But that’s just a fraction of the story.
Halfway through the film, which opened at No. 1 for the Sept. 9-11 weekend, writer-director Cregger abruptly cuts away from a gasp-inducing moment, jumping from dank Detroit to sunny L.A., where a hotshot actor played by Justin Long is cruising in a convertible without a care in the world. That is, until he gets a call from his agent telling him he’s been accused of sexual misconduct in The Hollywood Reporter.

Fred Savage was accused of sexually assaulting a former crew member who worked on “The Wonder Years” reboot and would routinely “verbally harass and belittle” below-the-line staff on set, according to a group of six women who brought up the allegations to Disney Hr ahead of his public ousting in May, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The star of the original “Wonder Years” was fired as director and executive producer of its reboot following an investigation into charges of inappropriate behavior, a spokesman for 20th Television confirmed to TheWrap in early May. Specifics regarding the misconduct were not revealed. Now, some of the women, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told The Hollywood Reporter they “feel that people need to know what the wrongdoing was.”
The crew members described two sides Savage presented to people he interacted with — one that was “very charming” and “social” and another that “manipulative,” “erratic” and “scary.

Bill Murray will not appear in Wes Anderson’s next film “Asteroid City” and was replaced by Steve Carell in the project, TheWrap has learned, and the reason was because Murray had tested positive for Covid-19 prior to filming.
Fans who noticed the full cast list for Anderson’s “Asteroid City” after Focus Features acquired the film earlier this week may have wondered why Murray’s name, who has appeared in nearly all of Anderson’s movies in some form, was conspicuously absent. It was even Murray who first let slip that the film was in fact titled “Asteroid City.”

The recent round of reboots hasn’t set the world on fire when it comes to winning accolades. But that changed with ABC’s “The Wonder Years,” which premiered last September. A big reason is it’s a complete reimagining. Instead of being a coming-of-age memory comedy about a young boy growing up in the late 1960s in a middle-class White family, the new version revolves around a Black family living in that pivotal decade in Montgomery, Alabama as seen through the eyes of a 12-year-old.
The reboot has already followed in the original’s footsteps earning a prestigious Peabody Award in June for “its willful depiction of Black Joy.” The initial version picked up the award in 1989 for “pushing boundaries of the sitcom format and using new modes of storytelling.” So will Emmys be far behind for freshman series starring Elisha “Ej” Williams as 12-year-old Dean Williams and Dull...

While Frank Langella is said to be considering legal action after being fired from Netflix’s “The Fall of the House of Usher” for his “inappropriate” behavior, more details are emerging about what he is alleged to have said and done that made cast and crew so uncomfortable around him.
Deadline reported on Friday that, according to “a number of people on or close to the Netflix production,” the Tony winner often indulged in graphic discussions about his own sex life and quizzed people on set about theirs.

The Wonder Years reboot will continue without Fred Savage. Executive producer Saladin Patterson confirmed that production on the ABC revival is moving forward following the director's dismissal for alleged "inappropriate conduct" on the set. "It was very heartbreaking, but I have to trust the process," Patterson told People on May 15. ABC has confirmed the fate of the remainder of its shows, and it's a good season to be a bubble show on the network.
On the scripted front, the Alphabet Network has renewed Big Sky (for Season 3), A Million Little Things (for Season 5), The Conners (for Season 5), Home Economics (for Season 3), and The Wonder Years (for Season 2).
Earlier on Friday, renewals for The Bachelor (for Season 27), America’s Funniest Home Videos (Season 33), Celebrity Wheel of Fortune (Season 3), (American Idol (Season 6), and Shark Tank (Season 14) dropped.
The news completes ABC's renewals and cancellations for the season, and there are some shockers.
Early reports suggested that it could come down to Big Sky vs. A Million Little Things for one of the few drama slots remaining on the network.
Big Sky Season 2 averages 2.6 million viewers and a 0.3 rating among adults 18-49, but the show is a heavy hitter in delayed viewing.
With a week of DVR factored in,...
